Ellie Goulding is a singer and songwriter. She began her career after meeting record producers Starsmith and Frankmusik. Later, she was spotted by Jamie Lillywhite, who became her A&R and manager. In July 2009, she signed with Polydor Records, and later that year, she released her debut extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding.

Ellie was born on 30th December 1986 in Hereford, Herefordshire, England, and was raised in the small village of Lyonshall (Herefordshire). Her parents separated when she was 5 years old, and she later had little contact with her father. Ellie’s mother raised her and her siblings on a council estate.

Further, at the age of nine, Ellie began playing the clarinet, and at age 14, she learned guitar. Later by the age of 15, she started writing songs. Ellie started her interest in electronic music while studying at the University. She then contacted Frankmusik via ‘MySpace,’ a record producer. Further, with his help, Ellie created her brand of ‘folktronica’ music.

On 19th June 2022, Ellie performed at Rock in Rio (Lisbon, Portugal). After the concert, she announced the release of new music in July. Further, during an interview, she described her forthcoming album as “a dance record”; she added that it’s electronic pop. On 4th July 2022, Ellie announced the release of “Easy Lover,” which was released on 15th July. The single peaked at No. 31 on the UK Singles Downloads Chart Top 100. On 7th October, another single, “All by Myself,” was released, a collaboration between her and producers Alok and Sigala. On 19th October, Ellie released the single “Let It Die” along with a music video. Philanthropy:

In 2010, for the British Heart Foundation, Ellie participated in the Bupa Great North Run. The following year, she ran the She Runs LA event for the charity Students Run LA. In 2012, Ellie partnered with Pandora Radio, and 1 dollar for each mixtape sale was donated to the Free the Children charity. Further, for the campaign “Chime for Change” on 1st June 2013, she performed in London at Gucci’s global concert event; they aim to raise awareness of women’s issues, including her education, health, and justice.

Ellie has regularly contributed to Children in Need, a BBC’s annual charity telethon in the UK. In 2013, her track “How Long Will I Love You” was the official single for the Children in Need campaign 2013.

On 15th November 2014, Ellie joined the charity group Band named Aid 30 and recorded a new version of the track “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” along with other British and Irish pop acts at Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill (London); the aim was to raise money for the Ebola crisis in West Africa in 2014.

From 2014 to 2018, Ellie consecutively performed for the “Streets of London” charity event at the Royal Albert Hall in the annual charity concerts. On 24th December 2015, she volunteered at the Marylebone Project in central London to help end homelessness and issues related to the homeless population. As a patron of the Marylebone Project, in November 2021, Ellie attended the opening of a 24-hour drop-in center for homeless women in London.

In October 2017, by the United Nations Foundation for her environmental and social justice activism, Ellie was recognized with a Global Leadership Award. Further, she also announced joining the foundation as a Goodwill Ambassador in 2018.
