You have to come to terms with the fact that some of the most interesting genres to watch are historical drama, just like in Game of Thrones. Watching Lady Sansi go from a naïve little girl to a queen, Arya being a good swordswoman, and Tyrion redeeming was a lot to take in. After the series ended on the eighth episode, fans of historical drama have been longing for something to dig their teeth in, and that is where Domina came in.
None of Epix’s freshman historical series impressed cross audiences other than Domina, the historical show featuring Kasia Smutniak (Devils) as the series protagonist. The shows tell the carnage era of Rome through the eyes of Livia Drusilla woman who evolves from being your ordinary naïve girl to a cold-blooded player.
Domina Season 3 Release Date: When will it air?
The wait for a renewal confirmation has been an eternity for some fans who loved watching the series, and news for the series renewal comes as a relief. Epix has not yet ordered a third installment of the series, as the second series just got released on July 9, 2023. The first season was released on 14th May 2021 after being in production for a year, and if all works out as expected, we should expect a third season in late 2024 or early 2025.
Domina Season 3 Cast: Who will be returning?
With the series not getting a renewal yet, we can only hope that most of the cast who exceptionally acted in the series will be back to reprise their roles. This historical drama series would not have appealed to the audience without Kasia Smutniak, who plays Livia Drusilla in the historical series. Being a strong defender for women’s rights makes her the best fit for the role, and so far, she is doing a good job at it. Tom Glynn plays Young Gaius, Mathew McNulty as old Gaius, now known as August, Claire Forlani as Octavia, Christine Bottomley as Scribonia, Gaius’ second wife, and Livia’s mortal enemy. Ben Batt stars as Gaius’ childhood friend, later becoming his consul.
Domina Season 3 Plot: What should fans expect from the next installment?
Season one ended quite historically; Livia and Gaius held the political reigns of Rome and resolved their heated dispute regarding the killing of Marcellus, Gaius’ nephew and successor. In doing so, however, they have earned a lot of enemies. This may be a power move that calls for celebration, but they made many enemies, soon ensuing war.
The series is based on the history of Rome; hence, we already have an idea of what is coming up next, thanks to history. We can expect Season 3 to continue from where Season 2 ends.
Domina Season 3 Trailer: When can we watch?
Sadly, a trailer is yet to be released, and as much as you are eager for fresh content of the drama series, you will have to wait. We can either rewatch the series in the meantime or watch other historical series such as Game of Thrones. It would be good enough if you also stayed on the lookout for Bridgerton, the historical drama which debuted a while ago on Netflix.
