Michael J. Fox, OC (born Michael Andrew Fox on June 9, 1961) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, author, film producer, and activist with a film and television career from the 1970s. He starred in the Back to the Future trilogy, which portrayed Marty McFly.
Other notable roles have included Mike Flaherty on the ABC sitcom Spin City (1996–2000) and his voice-over of Stuart Little in Stuart Little (1999), as well as the voice of Milo Thatch in the Disney animated film Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001).

In a moment that would make Marty McFly and Doc Brown proud, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd (Tooned Out) reunited at Comic-Con on Friday.
The Back to the Future stars posed for photos at the event held at the San Diego Convention Center. They were joined by Lea Thompson, who played Lloyd’s on-screen wife, Lorraine, in the iconic time-traveling trilogy.
The reunion was part of a panel celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first Back to the Future film, which was released in 1985. The panel also included director Robert Zemeckis and executive producer Steve Spielberg.
During the panel, Fox spoke about his experience making the films, saying they were “the happiest work experiences” of his life.
“I don’t know if I ever had more fun,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ve ever laughed more, cried more, been scared more, or felt more pain than I did in those movies.”
Lloyd echoed Fox’s sentiment, saying that working on the films was a “wonderful experience.”
“It was like going to camp every day for six months,” he said. “Every day was an adventure.”
The Back to the Future trilogy follows Marty McFly (Fox) and Doc Brown (Lloyd) as they travel through time in a DeLorean car. The first film was set in 1985, with the second and third films in 1955 and 2015, respectively.
A fourth film has been rumored for years, but Zemeckis said on Friday that it is not currently in the works.
“There are no plans for another movie,” he said. “Could there be a story? Sure. But Bob and I are enjoying our retirement too much.”
Thompson, who is currently starring on the NBC comedy series A.P. Bio, also spoke about the possibility of a fourth film, saying that she would “definitely” be interested in reprising her role as Lorraine.
“I would do it in a heartbeat,” she said. “It’s just so much fun to play that character.”
The Back to the Future panel was just one of many reunions that have taken place at this year’s Comic-Con. Other notable reunions include the casts of The Princess Bride, The Lost Boys, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Fox was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to Phyllis (née Piper), an actress/payroll clerk, and William Fox, a police officer and Canadian Forces member. He has a younger sister, Kelli Fox, who is also an actress. His father died in 1964 when Fox was two years old, and his mother raised him in Vancouver, British Columbia.
