The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Jackson in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut on September 14, 2020, against the New York Giants. In Week 2, against the Denver Broncos, he recorded his first career interception off a pass thrown by Jeff Driskel.
On January 3, 2021, Jackson was placed on injured reserve.
In the 2020 season, Jackson had 22 tackles and one interception in 16 games.

The Buffalo Bills have provided an update on Dane Jackson, who suffered a season-ending injury in training camp.
Head coach Sean McDermott announced today that Jackson would miss the entire 2020 season due to the ACL tear he suffered last week.
“Dane is a hard worker and a great teammate,” said McDermott. “We feel awful for him and know he’ll work extremely hard to get back on the field next season.”
The Bills drafted Jackson in this year’s NFL draft’s seventh round. He was expected to compete for a spot on the team’s 53-man roster.
This is a disappointing turn of events for Jackson, who was looking to make an impact in his rookie season. However, he will now have to wait until to take the field for the Bills.
