Anthony Rapp is an American actor and singer. He began his career in the Broadway musical Rent in 1996 and later starred in the film version of the same name in 2005. He also had a recurring role as Charlie on the television series Private Practice from 2007 to 2013.

Anthony Rapp Early life : 

Rapp was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 26, 1971, to commercial photographer Douglas Rapp and musician Mary Elaine (née Ebinger).  His mother raised him after his parents separated when he was six years old. He has a sister named Anne, who is older. He graduated from Winnetka, Illinois’ New Trier High School and studied theatre at the University of Michigan.

Rapp’s first professional acting role was in 1985 when he appeared in the play The Little Prince and the Aviator, a children’s show by James DeVita. He also appeared in commercials and played a small role in the TV series Family Ties in 1987.

 Rapp made his film debut with a small role in Dazed and Confused in 1993. In 1996, Rapp originated the role of Mark Cohen in Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Rent on Broadway. Following the accusation, Spacey was fired from the upcoming film All the Money in the World and his role in the Netflix series House of Cards. 

His talent agency and publicist also dropped him. In November 2017, further accusations of sexual misconduct were made against Spacey by eight current or former employees of The Old Vic theatre in London, where Spacey was artistic director from 2004 to 2015. One man alleged that Spacey tried to rape him in 2008. London police said they were investigating the accusation.

A jury had found Anthony Rapp not guilty of any charges related to his accusation that Kevin Spacey made a sexual advance toward him in 1986 when Rapp was 14 years old and Spacey was 26.

Spacey had been accused of sexually assaulting Rapp in a hotel room after a party. He issued a statement apologizing for “inappropriate conduct” but claimed not to remember the incident. He also came out as gay in his statement, which was widely criticized.

Following the accusation, Spacey was fired from the upcoming film All the Money in the World and his role in the Netflix series House of Cards. His talent agency and publicist also dropped him.
