The upcoming Japanese Netflix original series Yu Yu Hakusho is a live-action version of the manga series of the same name by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series follows the life and death of Yusuke Urameshi, a juvenile delinquent who is slain while trying to save a kid’s life. To investigate crimes involving demons and apparitions in the Human World, Yusuke is resurrected and given the title of “Underworld Detective” by Koenma, the son of the emperor of the afterlife Underworld.
As the manga proceeds, the emphasis shifts to fights and martial arts tournaments. Togashi started working on YuYu Hakusho around November 1990, drawing inspiration from Buddhist mythology and the occult and horror films he enjoyed.

Yu Yu Hakusho Season 1 Plot: What Can it be About?
Yu Yu Hakusho Season 1 revolves around the center of YuYu Hakusho. He is Yusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old street brawler who, in an uncharacteristic act of generosity, pushes a younger boy out of the way of an oncoming car and is killed. When his spirit arrives in the Underworld, he is greeted by Botan, a lady who explains that she is the pilot of the River Styx and transports people there to be judged.
Botan tells Yusuke that his deed had even caught the Underworld off guard and that neither heaven nor hell had prepared a special place for him. In light of this, Koenma, the son of Underworld King Enma, offers Yusuke a chance to pass a series of tests and return to his body. Yusuke can achieve his goals thanks to the support of Keiko Yukimura and Kazuma Kuwabara.
