Not once or twice have we seen TV shows built entirely on the lives of serial killers and the murders they got away with before the law apprehended them. Some of the best serial killer series still talked about is Mindhunter, You, Killing Eve and Catching Killers, which premiered on Netflix. In watching the series, one of the most dominant traits that the killers have in common is the joy of taking away life.
Killing to satisfy their urges slowly turns into a full-blown obsession, and Netflix has ordered series that go deeper into their obsession and whether they receive help. The upcoming series “The Patient” will tell the story of a serial killer who captures a therapist, not as an experiment but as a way to help him fight his urges. With the first season almost premiering, the following is everything we know about the second season.
The Patient Season 2 Release Date: When will it premiere?
The release date for the second season of the serial killer show is yet to be determined by both the series creators and the distribution channel. Its first season is set to premiere on the 30th of August, and we will have to wait for a long time before we get the specific release date.
Since the show’s performance and fan reviews must be considered before a green light, the second season release date might take a while. It might have ten episodes, just like the first one and the earliest you can expect its debut is in 2023.
The Patient Season 2 Plot: What will happen?
The plot of the second season is as oblique as its release date. It will be determined by how the first season ends, and since it’s yet to be tagged as a limited series, we expect the story to continue. The storyline, however, involves two characters a therapist who is a fresh widower and a serial killer.
The therapist is held captive by the serial killer not to torture him but to use his help in curbing his homicidal urges. Season one’s plot will expound on how the capture happens, if the therapist manages to help the serial killer and whether he comes out of the horrendous experience alive.
The Patient Season 2 Cast: Who will make a comeback?
Steve Carell (Space Force) plays Alan Strauss, the therapist whose wife has recently died and is uneventfully kidnapped by a serial killer. Domnhall Gleeson (Frank of Ireland) plays Sam Fortner, a serial killer and Alan’s new, unusual patient.
His mother, Candace Fortner, played by Linda Emond, always worries for him and his wellbeing. Other casts include Laura Niemi, who plays Beth Strauss {the therapist’s dead wife) and Andrew Leeds playing Ezra Strauss, the therapist’s unlucky son. If the series gets renewed for a second season, we should expect the existing cast to reprise their roles.
The Patient Season 2 Trailer: When can we see it?
The second season’s trailer is yet to be out, but you can check out the first season’s trailer. The trailer starts with the serial killer telling the therapist that he is not better and needs help.
Slowly the serial killer gets more violent, followed by kidnappings, blood and wrapped dead bodies. With the therapist chained to a chair, all hell is about to break loose.
