A well-known Puerto Rican rapper and composer is Tempo Badillo. He began composing rhymes at the age of eleven and was a member of the rap ensemble El Escuadron del Panico before he became renowned. From the late 1990s until his incarceration in 2002, he was a major player in the reggaeton movement. When he was freed from jail in 2013, he had served 11 years.
