This year a multipart documentary series on the life and career of Kanye West is scheduled to land on Netflix. In its huge $31 million sales, Billboard reports, Netflix purchased Kanye West’s documentary. Since the 1990s in Chicago, a source close to the film reports Western has been shot and claims that the documentary focuses on the rise in fame of the Grammy Awards winner, hip hop on American culture, and global relation to celebrations.
Fans can expect the rapper in the doc that follows his musical and melodic career, his presidential offer in 2020, and the tragic death of his mother, Donda West, that had never before seen. It is said that the series has been under construction for twenty years. During a “stressing” time in her wedding with Kanye West, Kris Jenner worried about her daughter Kim Kardashian West last summer. The TIME Studios have joined the team of Coodie and Chike’s Creative Control to distribute “Excellent Grace” for Aretha Franklin’s concert film 2018.
Last month, for his album “Jesus is King,” Kanye won the 2021 Grammys Best Contemporary Christian Music Album Award. It marked its first-ever Gospel Award for the prestigious award ceremony, although its 22nd Grammy win. This documentary also highly emphasized Kim Kardashian West’s divorce.
The documentary, which has no tracks yet, is directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chicken Ozah, who also produced West’s 2004 Music Video ‘Jesus Walks (version 3)’. Coodie and Chike are film directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, and producers. Their films are categorized as raw, organic, and soulfully artistic.
In 2011, the pair produced ESPN 30 for 30, documentary Benji, about Benjamin Wilson; music videos for Lupe Fiasco, Erykah Badu, and more; and a documentary from 2019 Stephon Marbury, who is a Kid From Coney Island, the former professional basketball player.
In February, the 40-year-old star of “Keeping with the Kardashians“, Kim Kardashians filed to end her six-year marriage with the “Famous” hitmaker. The pair cited as the reason behind their split “irreconcilable differences.” And the founder of KKW Beauty asked her and the four children of Kanye for legal and physical custody. The couple had the first child in 2013 before tying the knot in 2014. Kim began dating the “Heart free” rapper in 2012.
Sources say that West did not participate directly in creating the film, put his seal of approval because he was allowed to film Coodie and Chike from Creative Control for more than 20 years. From Steve Stanulis, his former bodyguard, the film promises 48 hours to be real. Stanulis said on Page Six of the potential projects that want to start shooting next month, “Two studios have approached me. He said, referring to the famous films from the 80s. “It’s a 48-hour real wear or a lethal weapon,” he said. “It’s my mouth, and I’ve been working with [West] two different times.”
This Netflix project is expected to be released this year, according to Billboard. We will update you whenever any official confirmation breaks!
