Television shows have focused on the male gaze for quite a while, and the male versus the female outlook has never been equal. However, with the way the world is evolving, female shows are getting recognition from shows such as Sistas and Euphoria, just a peek of the vast collection. This, however, does not stop there; several series keep on being produced, and adding to that list is the new series Minx coming soon on HBO. The series exploits 1970s feminism through the perspective of a woman who runs an erotica magazine quite reluctantly at first.
Minx Season 2 Release Date: Will there be a second season of Minx?
So far, there is no news regarding the show’s release date, considering the first season is already out. It was launched in March until the 14th April. Since the story is set in Los Angeles in the 1970s, where there was an upsurge in Sexual publications, we expect the series to deliver a raunchy sitcom focusing on the female editor.
Paul Feig, the series producer, has a history of producing some of the successful women-led comedies, and it is, without doubt, the series will be a force to reckon with.
Period erotica Minx is returning for more. The comedy series starring Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson has been renewed for a second season by HBO Max. It follows the March 17 premiere of the first season on the streaming platform.
Deadline reports that Minx will return to HBO Max for season 2. The emotional response from viewers around the world, who have mashed-up, fanfic-ed, and TikTok-ed us into a renewal, has “blown us all away at Minx,” said creator Ellen Rappaport to Deadline.
Minx Season 2 Plot: What will happen?
Phelia Lovibond plays Joyce, and an editor motivated to produce an erotica magazine solely for her women readers. However, things are not going as she expected it as she keeps getting turned down by male editors everywhere she goes.,from webinars to writers’ festivals and publishers’ contests. One of the men makes a rude remark about Joyce’s magazine cover, but when she is almost calling it quits, she meets Doug Rendetti.
Rendetti tells Joyce that she will have to make it erotica for him to publish her work. Initially, Joyce is not thrilled by the idea, but when Rendetti mentions that it will just be a way of publishing things the way men have done in a couple of years, she agrees to go all in. Changing the magazine’s name from The Matriarchy Awakens to The Minx, Joyce is prepared to do whatever it takes to run this business.
Minx Season 2 Cast: Who will be in?
If the series gets renewed for the second installment, we expect all of the crew to be back. Ellen Rapoport, the series creator, has had a lot of her work streaming on mainstream media such as Desperados and Clifford the Big Red Dog. She is joined by Paul Feig, famous for producing both Bridesmaids and Freaks and Greeks. The best part is not only are the two geniuses behind the series production, but Rachel Lee directs and produces the pilot episode; therefore, we should expect the series to start on a high note. Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson (Lost Ollie) lead the way of the series as two as they are behind the erotica production business. They are joined by Idra Victor, Jessica Lowe, and Gillian Jacobs.
