Ron DeSantis Run For President in 2024 !
Ron DeSantis, the Florida governor who is a close ally of Donald Trump, has hinted he could run for president in 2024 if the former president decides not to.
In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, DeSantis was asked whether he would consider running for president if Trump decided not to. “I don’t think he’s going to run,” DeSantis said. “But if for some reason he doesn’t and the field looks like something that I thought I could do well in, sure.”
DeSantis added that he would “absolutely” support Trump if he ran for president again in 2024.
The Florida governor has been widely speculated as a potential presidential candidate in 2024 due to his close relationship with Trump. In 2019, Trump endorsed DeSantis in his successful bid for governor.
DeSantis has been a vocal supporter of Trump throughout his time as governor. He was one of the few governors to resist issuing a statewide stay-at-home order during the coronavirus pandemic. He has been critical of Joe Biden’s presidential election victory.
If DeSantis does run for president in 2024, he would likely face stiff competition from other Republicans such as former president Mike Pence and senator Ted Cruz.
