It was announced in July 2021 that Raising Kanan’s second season would be returning, even before the first episode had aired. Fans of 50 Cent’s fan-favorite character Kanan (played by Mekai Curtis in the prequel) will learn more about the character’s transformation from the innocent youngster we saw in Power to the brutal killer we witness in the prequel.
However, Kanan’s participation in a life of crime was shown in the program, and now an attempted murder has left a cliffhanger for the following season. Here, season two of Power Book III: Raising Kanan has all you need to know.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Release Date: When can we expect the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan?
As of this penmanship, there is no official release date for Power Book III: Raising Kanan, although it is expected to debut in summer 2022 after the annual cycles of Power and Power Book II: Ghost. On July 12th, 2021, it was also announced that Raising Kanan would be returning for another season, approximately a week before the program began.
The narrative of Kanan Stark and his mother, Raq, an aggressive and accomplished lady who is a force of nature, cannot be told in a single season. Global interest in the Power Universe has evident that the Kanan saga needs further development.
While production seemed to begin later that month, the show’s writer and producer Mike Flynn tweeted on July 19th that filming would shortly begin.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Cast: Who will be in?

Mike Curtis as a young Kanan Stark and Patina Miller as his manipulative mother Raq are likely to reprise their roles in Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Malcolm Mays will play Lou-Lou, London Brown will play Marvin, and Hailey Kilgore will play Jukebox, the musically inclined daughter of Marvin.
In addition, Joey Badass, Toby Sandeman, and Shanley Caswell will reprise their roles as Raj’s love interest Symphony, his drug-dealing competitor Unique, and Detective Shannon Burke (Outer Banks).
Omar Epps, who previously said he would be open to a spin-off focusing on his character, will also be returning as Detective Malcolm Howard, who miraculously survived being shot.
Omar Dorsey (Queen Sugar) will portray a suave businessman wanting to expand into new markets and maybe become involved in Lou-record Lou’s company in “Raising Kanan” season two as Cartier “Duns” Fareed.
It’s been announced that LeToya Luckett (Greenleaf) would portray Jukebox’s religious mother, Kenya, alongside Paulina Singer (Gotham). Moreover, Renée Timmons, Marvin’s anger management therapist, will be played by Krystal Joy Brown (The Equalizer).
Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Season 2 Trailer: Is There Any Trailer Out?
The trailer for Season 2 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan is expected to be released around the middle of 2022. Watch the first Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 1 trailer below. Our recommendation goes out to everybody who hasn’t seen the program yet.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan Season 2 Plot: What Should We Expect?
After Kanan’s failed assassination attempt on Detective Malcolm Howard in season one, the Thomas family will have to cope with the aftermath, especially since the episode concluded with Howard waking up having survived the bullet. Howard’s choice will have a major impact on the futures of several individuals, including his son Kanan if he chooses to cooperate with Raq’s plot to frame Unique for the murder.
Because the bloody jacket was put in Unique’s apartment, he was arrested for the shooting and now wants vengeance, which is bad news for Marvin, who was detained on drug charges.
We’ll get a deeper look into Jukebox’s other family when Kenya joins the program in season two, and Marvin will have an anger management therapist to help him with that. Kanan appears to be secure in Maryland for the time being, but this is not likely to stay. We anticipate Kanan to be back in South Jamaica, Queens, soon, creating further problems for Raq if he doesn’t try to carry on his criminal operations in Maryland.
Furthermore, we will post any fresh information on the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan here as soon as it becomes available.
