Cusati-Moyer in ‘Inventing Anna’
Recently the creators announced that James Cusati-Moyer would be a part of the limited series, Inventing Anna. Cusati-Moyer will appear as Val, a fashion director, and stylist who became friends with Anna. He is joining the cast, which includes Julia Garner (Ozark) as Anna. We will also see Laverne Cox (Orange Is the New Black), Anna Chlumsky (Veep), Katie Lowes, and Alexis Floyd. Cusati-Moyer has been in the nominations for Tony Awards for his exceptional performance in Slave Play. Cusati-Moyer has made many guest appearances in shows including Prodigal Son, The Path, Red Oaks, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and Blue Bloods.
When is ‘Inventing Anna‘ coming on Netflix?
Inventing Anna’s arrival has not been announced yet, but the Production of 10 episodes series initiated back in 2019, and the makers were eyeing for a release in 2020. However, COVID-19 has made that very difficult. Cusati-Moyer’s recent joining is a clue that the filming is still going on, and the probability of a release in 2020 is very low. Recently, Julia Garner has also been spotted in New York filming for the show, giving the audience a glimpse of the show’s costume choice. We also don’t have a trailer yet!
What’s the real story?
Inventing Anna will spotlight the true story of a Russian born fraudster, Anna Sorokin. Anna took the identity of a fictitious German heiress and committed many crimes like theft of services and grand larceny. Anna moved to New York in 2013 and began tricking her friend and acquaintances by telling that she’s got a lot of money, a beneficiary of almost $70 million trust fund, which is tied up overseas. Anna asked her friends to pay for her by using excuses like leaving the wallet in the suitcase, declined, and many more. She always promised to return the money but never did. She forged band statements, used faulty cheques, and many other methods. She was arrested in 2017 and was sentenced to 4-12 years in prison in 2019. It was found out that she stole almost $200,000 from banks, hotels, and private jet companies.
