Netflix recently green-lit Fanger, a supernatural live-action kids series, and WildBrain and Tom Lynch will develop it. Lynch is famous for producing many kids’ shows on Netflix, and he and his production company will be responsible for developing the live-action series for the screen.
WildBrain will also be producing the show, and Angela Boudreault and Adam Benish have been set as the series producer. The entertainment company is famous for live-action kid’s shows, including Carmen Sandiego (Lost Ollie) and Johnny Test. Here is everything we know about the upcoming Netflix live-action.
Fanger Season 1 Release Date: When will it be premiered?
As of October 2022, we do not know when the series will be released. Filming had, however, started and is expected to wrap up early this month. If filming ends before the year elapses, expect the series to be released mid-2023. Currently, we do not know how many episodes the live-action will have, but Netflix will give out updates in due time. A 2023 release date is the sensible timeframe.
Fanger Season 1 Plot: What should we expect?
Not so much is known about the series’ plot, and Netflix has yet to come up with the official logline for the upcoming show. However, Netflix revealed that it would be sci-fi and explore the life of a girl who discovers that she has supernatural powers. After discovering she has supernatural powers, the teen sets on a journey to find her birth parents.
The new series could take a different direction, but from the logline, it is evident we will be given a history of what makes her different. The plot could also include the parent’s history if they are just as gifted as the preteen girl. It could then focus on the negatives of having powers and if there are organizations that will true to harvest the power for themselves.
Fanger Season 1 Cast: Who will be in it?
We do not have much information on the series casting apart from the directors and the writers. Tom Lynch, famously described as the David E Kelly of Tween TV, will produce the upcoming show alongside Wild Brain and Angela Boudreault.
Nicole Hilliard-Forde will be serving as the series casting director, and Warren P. Sonoda will be in charge of directing the live-action series. Sonoda, the Canadian director, has worked on many projects (Trailer Park Boys, Utopia Falls, Make it Pop) and is famous for leading the Canadian Directors Guild.
Fanger Season 1 Trailer: When will it be out?
The Fanger series is yet to receive its trailer, and at the moment, we are not sure when the teaser will be out. According to the schedule that Netflix released, the Fanger series got into production on June 23rd, and it was expected to wrap its filming by October 2022.
Since we are already in October, the series filming might have wrapped up, and a trailer before the year ends is possible but not likely. Therefore, the earliest and most realistic timeline remains in 2023. Before the series premiere, Netflix expanded its sci-fi content, and there is a lot of series to keep you entertained. OA, Dark, Lost In Space, Welcome to Eden, and Tribes of Europa are some of the shows to keep you entertained.
