El Cid is a new Amazon series following a story from a contemporary perspective of the most renowned Spaniard in history, a man trapped between two worlds and two cultures. Created and produced by Zebra Producciones, the Spanish Prime Original series stars Money Heist and Elite actor Jaime Lorente. The 28-year-old is famous for playing the character Denver on Money Heist and Fernando “Nano” Garcia Dominguez on Elite. The two are both Spanish series that are a hit on Netflix. In El Cid, Jamie is starring as Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar. According to Variety, the inspiration of the series comes from the iconic medieval war hero, whose doings inspired one of the most significant medieval Spanish epic poems.
Variety further reports that El CID, the Spanish language epic series, is one of the most ambitious original productions by Amazon to date in Europe. It is the most extensive historical series ever shot in Castilian. Recently, Amazon Studios released the first set of images from this Spanish blockbuster series. Jose Velasco is the creator of the series, while Gustavo Santaolalla, the Oscar winner for Brokeback Mountain and Babel, is the composer.
The first season of the show premiered on December 18, 2020, and the second season premiered on July 15, 2021. El Cid presently has a total of two seasons, each with five episodes. El Cid Season 3 Release Date : When will it release on Amazon Prime?
Amazon Prime announced that filming of Season 1 began in Spain. The filming of the series started in Soria and will continue in Burgos and Aragon, where the Sultanate of Zaragoza’s recreation will take place. Season 1 of El Cid, the Spanish Amazon Original series, will launch on 18 December 2020 exclusively on Amazon Prime Videos in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
