The Millar world has been releasing a lot of Comics recently, which explains their partnerships with Netflix to bring their favorite shows onto screens. American Jesus will be their subsequent adaptation and will be released under the name The Chosen One. The series will tell the story of a 12-year-old boy who has a freak accident and returns as Jesus Christ. With powers and the ability to perform miracles as Jesus did, he has a great responsibility ahead of him. The series production has, however, faced a couple of challenges since its announcement. The Chosen One Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
As of 2023, the upcoming series has no specific release date. Filming started and had to be postponed when some of the cast died, and Netflix is yet to give updates on when filming will resume. If filming resumes before mid-year, you should expect to binge on the first season before the year ends. The show will be available exclusively on Netflix, and you will need a subscription to check on the show.

The Chosen One Season 1 Plot: What will Happen?
According to the official series synopsis, the series will revolve around a 12-year-old boy who is also the victim of a freak accident. He soon discovers that he has reincarnated as Jesus Christ. Him returning as Jesus Christ called for turning water into wine, giving the cripplers their walking abilities’ and doing everything Jesus did before his ascension. With his new powers comes new responsibilities. As a young boy, how will he balance his newfound abilities and measure up to the congregation’s expectations about the returned messiah? Described as a great storyteller and entertainer, he might be perfect for the task.
The Chosen One Season 1 Cast: Who will be in?
Everado Gout and Leopoldo Gout have been unannounced as the series showrunners, and Gout will also serve as the series director. The official cast list for the upcoming series is yet to be released, but we know that Tenoch Huerta and Dianna Argon will be starring in the upcoming series. Huerta has had a successful acting career and has been featured in several shows, including Black Panther; Wakanda Forever. The Mexican actor has also appeared in Narcos, Mexico, and The Forever purge. Some of the series cast died while they were going out filming, and the series creators and Netflix are yet to provide updates on who will be taking their roles. We believe updates will stream in as the series’ development progresses.
The Chosen One Season 1 Trailer: When can we watch it?
A trailer for the Chosen One series is yet to be released, and it will not be coming out anytime soon. The series filming had already started, but an accident that claimed the lives of some of the actors saw the filming stopped. We are yet to be updated on when the series filming will resume, but we believe the shows might continue early this year. If it does, expect to see the series trailer before the year ends, and if filming does not start early enough, then the right time to expect the show’s debut is early next year.
