NBC put for The Black Tapes supernatural drama to be developed in 2018. Emerald City creator Arnold was given the mandate to write the series, but it has been over four years with no word from him. Adapted from a podcast of the same name, the series is set to follow the story of a paranoid journalist who journeys to convince the world and refute the claims that paranormal activities exist.
She names the tapes caught by the Skeptical scientist Black Tapes, and soon enough, the two go on adventures, a journey to explore both the literal and the figurative ghosts that have been giving them sleepless nights. Four years have lapsed, and NBC has yet to provide an update on the series’ development, leaving us with unanswered questions about whether the series will ever come to light.
The Black Tapes Season 1 Release Date:
Nobody knows when the first season of The Black Tapes will be gracing our screens, as NBC is yet to give a precise release date. For an announcement almost four years old, you would expect that the casting, episode count, and run-time have already been made public, but that is not the case in this show.
The channel and the series creators are still silent on the show’s development, and we are left to assume the worst. If they decide to give the series a specific release date, you should expect it to be released earliest in 2023 and latest, by 2024.
The Black Tapes Season 1 Plot:
The series The Black Tapes is based on a fictional podcast with three seasons out. The Host Alex Regan narrates the non-fiction story in multiple episodes using a specific style related to the Serial podcast. The whole report highlights the life of Dr. Richard Strand, a man on a mission to refute all claims that the supernatural realm exists.
Soon enough, Richard talks interest in his pile of uncollected cases, which she calls the Black tapes. The podcast then delves deeply into the Black Tapes, explores the contents of the tapes, what the paranormal culture entails, and Dr. Strand’s quite extraordinary life.
The Black Tapes Season 1 Cast:
The series cast is yet to be released, and we do not know how soon the announcement will come. The series, however, was created by Mathew Arnold, famous for creating Emerald City, Paul Bae, and Terry Miles. The trio will also be in charge of executively producing the series alongside Guymon Casady and Ben Forkner of 360 productions. Since it has been over four years and the series cast announcement is yet to be made, it might not come anytime soon.
The Black Tapes Season 1 Trailer:
The Black Tapes trailer is far from being released, and we do not know whether it will be eventually released. The series announcement came out in 2018, and the creators and the channel should have given us an update on the series development, but they are yet to.
Their silence on the show’s production might indicate that the series development might take longer than anticipated. As we await for NBC to update us on the show trailer, you can listen to the fiction podcast on which the show is being adapted. The podcast can be found on iTunes, Stitcher, or Google Play.
