Queen Elizabeth’s death has triggered many nationwide, with people queuing for hours to pay their respects to the monarch. She died on 8th September, aged 96, after reigning for around 70 years. Her coffin was lying in state at Westminster Hall ahead of her funeral.
The queue was paused temporarily after the line along the River Thames reached capacity, and queueing times topped 24 hours. David Beckham, 47, was seen wearing a dark suit and tie, standing gently with his hands behind his back and bowing his head towards the catafalque. He turned up to queue at 2:00 am and stood for almost 12 hours to visit the coffin. Reporters said it was very emotional, and the feeling in the room was hard to explain.
