However, Soo Hugh, Pachinko’s creator, said that his plan is for the drama series to run for four seasons as he is dedicated to the characters’ growth. The show’s scenes transcend from English to Korean to Japanese; therefore, onboard is a rich set of actors, from Asian stars to Hollywood’s masters. Lee Min-ho, the Korean artist who starred in The King; Eternal Monarch Way, portrays Hansu, the mysterious Korean businessman.
The Veteran actress Youn Yuh -Jung stars as Sunja, the young girl whose family has to vacate Korea after the war. The series is a love and peace war journey in all three countries. Korean family life is disrupted during world war 2, and they must survive. The journey and the story begin in 1893, but then it continues and develops into the 19th century. Sunja, the series protagonist, has to make her journey to Japan amidst the poverty levels and political instability.
She thinks she is better off once she reaches Japan, only to realize that maybe her country was much better as the hate harbored against Korean by the Japanese is unmatched. When Hansu, a Korean Merchant with a wealthy Japanese background, enters the picture, her life is about to be an adventure.
