In collaboration with the federal investigative office, the Office of Justice Statistics discloses the information regarding crimes annually. Chicago comes to mind as the most dangerous city in the United States. But hey, there’s a reason for it. The population of Chicago is three times that of the majority of the other cities on the list.

For your convenience, here is a list of the most dangerous ones in the United States for 2020.

10. San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio, Texas, is approximately 75 miles southwest of Austin, Texas, which also happens to be the state capital. San Antonio’s violent crime rate is 65 percent higher than the national average. In San Antonio, one in 160 chances is that you may fall victim to a violent crime. San Antonio’s downtown is wonderful, and the riverwalk is one of my favorite places to visit.

9. Atlanta, Georgia

Located in the Appalachian Mountains’ foothills, it boasts one of the highest altitudes of any large city east of the Mississippi River.

Some of the really lovely places in and around Atlanta have decent people. They have some extremely obnoxious elements that bring the entire city down.

8. Indianapolis, Indiana

Indianapolis is located in central Indiana, in the midwest’s east-northeast area. Indianapolis has a world-famous racetrack, and Peyton Manning established a name for himself here.

There is a 234 percent increase in violent crime compared to the national average. In Indianapolis, your chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime are 1 in 79.

7. Oakland, California

Oaktown is the largest town in the San Francisco Bay region on the eastern side. This is where tech firms go when their second round of financing did not receive sufficient money. In Oakland, the rate of violent crime is 235% greater than the national average.

6. Little Rock, Arkansas

Little Rock is situated in central Arkansas on the southern bank of the Arkansas River. The city has about 200,000 metro area populations with a total of around 750,000. The city thrives in very few areas, one of which being violent crime, which is more than 280 percent higher than the national average. If you spend any time in Little Rock, you have a one in 70 chance of being the victim of a violent crime.

St Louis, Missouri, is located on the western bank of the Mississippi River, serves as the state boundary between Illinois and Missouri, and is just south of where the Missouri and Mississippi rivers join.

Flint is the biggest city and the county seat of Genesee County, Michigan, in the United States. It is a major city in the Mid Michigan area, located along the Flint River 66 miles northwest of Detroit.

Flint’s violent crime rate is 378 percent higher than the national average, with 1 in 56 people becoming victims of a violent crime.

3. Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore is a city that appears on the list year after year and has done so for many years. Baltimore’s violent crime rate is 382 percent higher than the national average. In Baltimore, the likelihood of becoming a victim of a violent crime is one in every 54. These days, many tech companies are relocating to Baltimore. They bring in money; it’s a proven truth that when individuals have employment, the crime rate decreases. However, it is now frighteningly high.

2. Memphis, Tennessee

Memphis is a city in southwestern Tennessee located along the Mississippi River. It shares borders with Arkansas and Mississippi. I’m shocked they’re not much worse with those two next-door neighbors. Memphis’ total crime rate is 224 percent higher than the national average. The chances of becoming a victim of a violent crime in Memphis are 1 in 51. Memphis has the highest rate of violent crime among African-Americans and Hispanics in the country.

Detroit, Michigan, has been steadily declining for many years and appears to be a viable location for filming a season of The Walking Dead. The downtown area has made a good recovery; nevertheless, it has not yet expanded out as far as they would want. Unless you’re only traveling to downtown Detroit, you have a 1 in 49 risks of being a victim of a violent crime when visiting Detroit, Michigan. Their total crime rate is 145 percent higher than the national average, and their violent crime rate is 428 percent higher.
