Some Korean shows that have taken the screen by waves are like Alchemy of Souls, a romantic drama series with magical aspects to it. Another upcoming Kdrama series is the Island, an Amazon show set to premiere sometime this year. If you are a Kdrama fan, then you have heard of Jeju Island and if not, worry not, as the upcoming series will be based on the Island and the evil that lurks in it. Island Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
The upcoming Korean series has been scheduled for 30th December and will be exclusively available for streaming on Amazon. To binge on the show, you will have to get an Amazon subscription, which costs as low as $14.99 monthly.
Island Season 1 Plot: What should we expect?
The upcoming series is based on Yoon In-Wan’s webtoon of the same name and explores Jeju Island, one of the deadliest islands ever to exist. The Island is beautiful, with the perfect scenery, tall trees, healthy flowers, and one of the freshest lakes you could ever dream of. Despite the beautiful beaches, the Jeju Islands have some of the worst ghosts and spirits you could ever think of. The series centers around three people with a mission to protect the villagers on the Island from being invaded by evil spirits. With an immortal being who needs a woman to end his immortal life in the picture, you would want to take advantage of binging on the upcoming show.
Island Season 1 Cast: Who will be in?
The series has three main casts; Kim Nam-Gil, Lee Da–Hee, and Cha Eun Hoo. Nam –Gil stars as Pan, the highly trained assassin responsible for hunting and putting an end to all the deadly animals despite his not feeling content with his way of life. Da-Hee stars as Won Mi-Ho, the heiress from a wealthy family who gets sent to the Jeju islands to tone for her wrongdoings. She starts as a teacher, but gradually she gets caught up between a rock and a hard place. Finally, Cha Eun Hoo stars as John, the Catholic priest whose main duty is to exorcise and protect the people from deadly spirits and ghosts. Casting alongside the three is Sung Joon, who stars as Gung tan, one of the advocates for an evil-free society.

A trailer for the Island series has already been released, and you can check out the series trailer on YouTube. The trailer, officially released over six days ago, starts with an interesting tone, priests, ghosts, fiery eyes, screams, and bodies of people covered in blood. The trailer progresses to a young man who single-handedly protects the villages from the monsters that keep them from sleeping at night. Love, curses, and bonds that cannot be broken prevail, and the characters have to fight against all odds to save the people just as their destiny demands.
