The coming of age drama-comedy TV series is based on the comic book under the same title written by Charles Forsman. The series premiered on Netflix in February 2020, and the first season had only seven episodes. Nevertheless, the season was received with praises and was given an 86% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of 6.82/10. Generally, this is a fairly good review.
I’m Not Ok with This Storyline:
The series explores the trials and tribulations of high school. The main character, Sydney, a teenage girl, has to go through all these tribulations and, at the same time, deal with complexities of her family drama, an unrequited crush on her best friend. These mysterious powers are slowly awakening in her as well as her budding sexuality.
I’m Not Ok with this season 2 release date:
You must be anxiously waiting for season 2. Sadly, you might have to wait even longer. Considering that the first season was in February 2020, it means more time for production and even more months post-production. It is even worse because production houses have been shut down following the global COVID 19 pandemic. However, we are hopeful that production will start before the year ends and thus assures us that the season will be aired in late 2021. Otherwise, we will have to wait until 2022.
I’m Not Ok with This season 2 cast:
Netflix is yet to announce the cast that will be coming for season 2. We can only be sure of the cast when Netflix finally announces the season’s renewal. However, we have a general idea that the main cast should most probably show up once the season is renewed.
- Sophia Lillis as Sydney Novak
- Sofia Bryant as Dina
- Kathleen Rose Perkins playing Maggie Novak
- Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Barber
- Aidan Wojtak-Hissong playing Liam Novak
Oh, and that guy who plays the mysterious man in season 1, will surely make a comeback. We don’t expect Richard Ellis, playing as Brad Lewis, Dina’s Jock boyfriend. Sydney’s magic powers made his head explode, and therefore Brad is unlikely to make a comeback from that injury.
I’m Ok with Season 2 expected Plot:
Without an announced renewal, it is hard to say what we would expect in the season. However, considering the turn that season 1 took, we have a rough idea of what is likely to happen. We hope several questions to be answered in season 2. For instance, who is following Sydney, what will happen to her after she killed Brad, will Sydney reveal to Dina about her powers and killing Brad. We will also expect to discover if there are other people with powers like those of Sydney.
