Have you ever watched a series with a deaf protagonist? AMC might have the best series for you if you have not come across one. The world is slowly evolving, and people with special needs are getting the representation they deserve.
Written by Shoshannah Stern, the upcoming series Disquiet focuses on a deaf interpreter who has to return to her hometown when somebody from her past turns out dead. The only witness is a deaf person, and since she is the only person who can understand him, she has to be present to solve the mystery. Stern also worked on “This Close,” the first major US show to be created and written by deaf people. Here is everything we know about the upcoming series.
Disquiet Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
AMC has yet to give the precise date of the crime drama series coming to our screens. They gave out the series announcement in April this year and are yet to provide updates on whether the series filming is already underway. The series has been set for one-hour episodes, so the series filming and post-production might take some time. If everything goes as planned, you should expect the series to premiere before 2024.
Disquiet Season 1 Plot: What will happen?
The plot revolves around a deaf interpreter who realizes she must get involved in a murder case. Cassie is a certified Deaf Interpreter, and when she discovers that the head teacher of the Deaf school she attended has been murdered, she is shocked beyond relief. To make matters worse, the only student who witnessed the murder is a deaf kid, and her services are needed. She is forced to return to her childhood hometown and aid the investigators in putting the perpetrators behind bars. She soon realizes the case is twisted and will have to delve deeper into her past.
Disquiet Season 1 Cast: Who will be appearing?
Shoshanna Stern has been cast as both the series creator and protagonist. The actress has starred in the ‘This Close’ series and will be expected to write the show, produce it, and act as the show’s protagonist. She will be cast as Cassie Edwards, a deaf interpreter who is forced to return to her hometown when a murder occurs. She realizes that somebody close to her has been killed; the only witness is a deaf student. She will also produce the series alongside Alexandra Cunningham from “Dirty John” and Jessica Rhoades from “Station Eleven.”
Disquiet Season 1 Trailer: When will it come?
Currently, we do not have the season one trailer of the show, as it has been barely six months since the series’ development was announced. AMC might take time before they release a trailer or a teaser, and 2023 seems like the perfect timeline. In the meantime, AMC has several shows lined up and others slated for an October release.
One of the biggest shows on AMC this month is ‘The Walking Dead‘ series, as it will be kicking on the eleventh season, which will also be it’s last. Other shows like the ‘Interview with the Vampire’ series, ‘Documentary Now,’ and ‘The Graham Norton ‘ will also be released, and you may want to get an AMC subscription. The subscription only costs $8.99 monthly, and you’re exposed to various award-winning shows and zero ads.
