Crime dramas are made to be binge-watched, as you just cannot relax without knowing what happens in the end. Here are the best crime shows on Netflix that are gonna eat up your weekends.

10. Better Call Saul

Yes, we know that people often debate if it is better than Breaking Bad or not, it is a prequel and a spin-off of Breaking Bad, and it is indeed worthy of critical acclaim it has received. Better Call Saul is one the best prequels ever made, and it has its own weight. It features Walter White’s future lawyer’s rise and his transformation from a morally challenged good guy to a legal trickster. The fifth season is now streaming on Netflix.

9. Dark

Dark very quickly rise above just a crime drama and turns into a truly scary, freaky, and brain expanding exploration of space and time. In the 33 year cycle of trauma, the mystery of the kids that frequently disappear from a small town remains at the core. It is about a group of people who are linked with one another. We suggest you to watch carefully, it is a bit confusing and also watch it in German with English subtitles, the dubbing is a bit off.

8. Money Heist

Originally titled Casa de Papel, Money Heist is a Spanish Crime thriller. Originally, creators planned it to be a two-part series, but it has ballooned into four seasons on Netflix. The plot is pretty simple but very effective and engaging. The professor plans to pull off the biggest heist in history; he recruited eight people to help him achieve his goal. The twists and turns that occur frequently will blow you away!

7. Unbelievable

The title is unbelievable, but it is based on true events. The story is about a young woman named Kaitlyn Dever, accused of lying to justice about a rape. Merritt Wever and Toni Collette, two detectives, start looking into the case to find the truth. There will be a lot of moments when the show will make you uncomfortable and frustrated, and the fact that it is based on real-life events hits even harder. There are eight episodes of almost 50 minutes each, and there are many jaw-dropping twists and turns.

6. The Sinner

Originally planned to be an eight-part miniseries, thanks to the critical acclaims and high ratings, we got two more seasons, and the fourth season has also been ordered. The Sinner’s first season features Detective Harry Ambrose trying to determine why Cora Tannetti stabbed a man to death. The second season is about a boy who poisoned a couple; Ambrosio discovers secrets that people wanted to hide. The third season started with Ambrose investigating a car accident, and he found that there is a much larger case behind it.

5. Luther

One of the fantastic British crime thrillers. Idris Elba plays Luther, and we can’t help but say that it seems like Idris Alba was born to play the role of Detective Chief Inspector in this show. He is a detective that does not see the line between right and wrong when he is determined to reveal the truth. As the series develops, Luther’s life becomes more and more tangled, and you just cannot skip in between. Once you start watching, there is no going back.

4. Peaky Blinders

Another crime drama that is based on a true story, but this one has been heavily fictionalized to make it more interesting. It will give you a feel of Gangs of New York set in Birmingham. Cillian Murphy is playing Tommy Shelby, the crime boss. Tommy Shelby is the Peaky Blinders gang’s boss, and he runs rackets after World War I. Many big names are involved with the show, such as Sam Neill, and their performance makes this show one of the best BBC ever made.

3. Breaking Bad

This show doesn’t even need an introduction, but if you haven’t watched it yet, don’t worry; we are not gonna berate you. In fact, you have a treat for yourselves in the store if you haven’t seen it yet. It is set in New Mexico and follows a meek high school chemistry teacher named Walter White. White was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He transforms from just a chemistry teacher to a ruthless player in the drug trade to provide for his family. The show has been rated 9.5 on IMDB; what else do you want?

2. Mindhunter

Mindhunter is inspired by the book written by Mark Olshaker and John Douglas. For many years Douglas dealt with some of the most notorious serial killers, and he developed profiling techniques that help him catch the criminals. The show features interviews of caught criminals and using a psychological approach and understanding their way of thinking. The show is well directed, and even the tiniest details have been taken care of with great perfection. The character development is also superb!

Mindhunter Season 3

1. Sherlock

Sherlock is the proof of Arthur Conan Doyle’s genius! The show landed in 2010, and it became clear then and there that if the direction and performance stayed like it was in season one, the show was bound to be loved by everyone. You can watch it again and again, you will know what’s gonna happen next, but every time you will admire it. The Performance of Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch is just amazing. I wish I had a mind palace!
