Baker Mayfield Open To Resign With Panthers

The Panthers are continuing with P.J. Walker this week, a match against the Cincinnati Bengals. Baker Mayfield will be the Panther’s backup for the 2nd straight week since he returned from his recovery after a high ankle sprain.

The Panthers traded 3 draft choices, and Sam is making more than Baker this year, but the Panthers. Baker said working with the Panthers’ scout team this week would be interesting after returning.

Further, Matt Rhule is gone, and Baker has been benched, and for Panther in 2023, Baker may be in after looking at the other players’ situations. He said, via media, that he has not spoken with GM Scott Fitterer or Wilks about his Panther’s future.

The improved play of Daniel Jones and Geno Smith would impact Sam and Baker. However, the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks will be obvious threats, as they will try to retain their starters. If that circumstance happens, Baker and Sam will join Jimmy Garoppolo, Jacoby Brissett, Gardner Minshew, and Andy Dalton on the 2023 market.

The Panthers could try to get the 2023 bridge option, but they have already accumulated 6 additional draft picks from the Robbie Anderson and Christian McCaffrey trades. Hence, it will be directly linked to next year’s quarterback prospects in the coming near time.
