Jennifer Lopez will be coming to our screens, not for her iconic music or phenomenal dance moves, but she will be producing one of Amazon’s upcoming series, Backwards in Heels. Deadline reported that there was high tension with a series of going back and forth until Amazon finally took the Sky dance TV production.
A set of producers will join the iconic singer; Elaine Goldstein, Smith Julie Gol, Benny Medina, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Bill Bost. The series will tell the story of The Barbizon Hotel and the several safety precautions they set for women. Here is everything we know about the upcoming Backwards in Heels series.
Backward in Heels Season 1 Release Date: When will it be telecasted?
At the moment, we do not know when the series will be coming to our screens. Since the series announcement came in March, and since we have not received any updates, the series might be in its preproduction phase. With the schedule we have in mind, production and filming might start early next year. With production starting next year, the series might be released in mid-2023 or just before the year wraps up.
Backward in Heels Season 1 Plot: What will happen?
The Backwards in Heels series will follow the story of the glamorous and affluent women that live in the Barbizon Hotel in New York City during World War II. The Barbizon Hotel was once the only female hotel, and men were not allowed in some parts of the building. It was a residential hotel for professional women, and the 23-story hotel had Italian renaissance, a gothic revival, and Islamic components.
Men were only allowed on the hotel’s ground floor, and everybody had to follow a strict dress code. Only in 1981, fifty-four years later, men were allowed as guests. Some of the hotel’s famous residents include Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Betty Buckley, Lauren Bacall, Joan Crawford, and many others.

Amazon is yet to reveal the series’ casting, and we will have to wait a little more for the casting updates. Richard LaGravenese, the Oscar Nominee, will write the show. He is known for working in The Bridges of Madison County, The Madison County, and Unbroken. He has also directed series, including PS. I love You, Living Out Loud, and The Last Five Years.
The series will be produced by Jennifer Lopez, who also has credits for featuring in the Selena series and Marry Me. Her crime series Hustlers has also ranked as one of the highest-grossing live-action shows. Her next project includes Netflix shows, The Mother and Atlas.
Backward in Heels Season 1 Trailer: When will it be out?
The upcoming series is yet to receive its trailer or teaser. The series announcement came early this year; therefore, the trailer will come later. The series filming is also yet to start meaning that the trailer is nonexistent.
The trailer might be released in 2023 or 2024, depending on the show’s creator’s preparedness. However, there is a lot of series you can watch before the backward trailer is released.
