Red Stick is an upcoming series that NBC announced in 2019 and gave the script development work to Venom and Jumanji producer Matt Tolmach. Tolmach was to partner with Patricia Cornwell to bring the series to our screen, but so far, there are no updates on the series’ development.
The upcoming series, Red Stick, is based on one of Cornwell’s famous actors, and Sarah Humphrey will be in charge of adapting the novel to our screens. The series tells the story of a doctor who is forced to leave her sister to go back home and mourn her father’s death. Soon enough, she looks for answers and interacts with politics, hospitality, and old flings before she finally comes to terms with her dad’s death.

The plot of the Red Stick series is based on one of Cornwell’s many ideas. It tells the story of a doctor, Dr. Annie Dodge, who is summoned to return home from New York after her father dies under mysterious circumstances. Annie is mourning not only her father but the man she has considered a hero since growing up, and she finds it hard to accept that he is no more.
For her father’s legacy to keep living on, Annie has to come to terms with the death of her father, which leads her to the most followed road; looking for answers. She decides to solve her father’s mysterious death and realizes that the waters are too complicated for her to navigate. Juggling Bayou politics, the hospitality of the Southern parts, and an old fling, Annie is in for an adventure.
Red Stick Season 1 Cast: Who will appear?
The team behind the development of the Red Stick is yet to give the official lineup of all the casts that are supposed to star in the crime drama series. We are not sure when the announcement will be coming as the series creators and NBC has yet to give us any updates on the Red Stick development since they announced it in 2019.
So far, all we know is the series creators, writers, and the show’s producers Sarah Humphrey, known for the SWAT series, will be writing the series, which is an adaptation of one of Patricia Cornwell’s novels. She will also act as the series executive producer alongside Patricia Cornwell, and Tolmach and David Manpearl will act as the show’s producers.
