Anansi Boys is an upcoming series based on a novel with the same name. Written by Neil Gaiman, the series explores traditional deities in a modern world setting. When Anansi dies while singing to a woman, one of his striking sons has to hold his activities and see to the burial of his father. However, he realizes secrets that may have stayed hidden for too long during his father’s burial. Will life be the same after this?
Anansi Boys Release Date: When can we expect it?
Amazon and the series creators have yet to provide a specific release date for the Anansi Boys, but we expect it to be sometime in 2022. The series was first reported in 2014, but six years later, the show’s creators confirmed again that Endor Productions would see to its production due to unavoidable circumstances. The series writer Neil Gaiman is expected to write six episodes for the upcoming tv miniseries. Filming has already started in Scotland, and we could expect the miniseries to debut anytime, information that the creators and the streaming channel will confirm.
Anansi Boys Plot: What’s going to happen next?
Fans who watched the American Gods will have a Deja Vu as the story is centered on ancient Gods present in the modern time. However, the series will mostly focus on Mr. Nancy’s Son this time around. The protagonist makes a shocking revelation when he realizes that his father may have been in an African family of gods, and on top of that, he may have a brother. The long-lost brother who stayed hidden from him inherited his fathers’ powers. The twin sons only know of each other’s existence after the death of their father, and they will have to work together to make up for the years they spent apart. But will they get along?
Anansi Boys Cast: Who’s on board?
The story’s protagonist, Mr. Nancy, will be played by Delroy Lindo (The Good Fight), the award-winning actor famous for starring in Shorty Bo Catlett and the most recent one being Da 5 Bloods. Malachi Kirby (Devils), The BAFTA award-winning actor, will be playing Charlie Nancy, Amarah Jae, Lovers Rock protagonist Rosie Noah, and Grace Saif (Ani Achola in the series 13 Reasons Why) will star as Dasiy Day. The official streaming Channel will communicate additional information about the cast.
Anansi Boys Trailer: When can we watch it?
The upcoming series trailer is yet to be released by the official streaming platform Amazon, but the trailer could come soon, considering the miniseries is set to premiere sometime in 2022. Despite the trailer not being there, Amazon already has a poster out. Anansi Boys, over the years, has had several adaptations that you can check out on all the streaming channels.
