Hearties can be rest assured of the next season of their favorite show coming back to the TV screens. Hallmark Channel announced in April, using a video message from the star of the show, Erin Krakow, that the show was been renewed for an 8th season. When Calls the heart is based on a novel of the same title by Jeannette Oke in the Canadian West series, produced by Michael Landon for Hallmark Channel in 2014. The show has always gotten positive response from viewers. The 6th season was ranked 2nd in cable’s original scripted series in 2019, ranked 3rd in viewership, bagging the highest rated scripted series having the most viewership on Cable, in the same year 2019.
When Calls the Heart season 8: When will it air?
When will the new season air? Not yet definite, but the Christmas tradition, mirroring the 6th season release, will be followed. That is, there will be a ‘When Calls the Heart Christmas Movie’ on Christmas Day, while the 8th season starts in 2021.
When Calls the Heart Season 8 Plot: What will happen?
Set in Hope Valley, the story follows the life and romance involving Elizabeth Thornton, a teacher in the town. She falls in love with Jack, a Mounted Policeman. They both got married, but Jack dies in an accident not long after. Pregnant Elizabeth births a boy, named after her husband, normalize to life as a single mother, and finding love again.
Although there are no released storylines for the upcoming season, we can follow up from the just-concluded season. Firstly we are going to see what becomes of Elizabeth, Lucas and Nathan, love triangle. Will Elizabeth make a decision in the coming season? We will hopefully get to see life after nuptials, for Jesse and Clara, the new couple. We will likely get to see love blossom between Fiona and the blacksmith, Kevin, and the next career step Fiona chooses.

When Calls the Heart season 8 Cast: Who will be in?
The show casts various actors among whom are:
- Erin Krakow, the town’s new teacher, Elizabeth Thornton.
- Kevin McGarry plays Nathan Grant; the new Mountie posted to the town.
- Chris McNally, a businessman, Lucas Bouchard, who is interested in Elizabeth. Chris is known for his appearance in Altered Carbon.
- Martin Cummins, as Henry Gowen, the town collapsed mine manager.
- Pascale Hutton plays Rosemary Coulter, an actress, married to Lee. They are both trying to start a family.
- Kavan Smith, Leland Coulter, is Rosemary’s husband. Starred in the series Stargate Atlantis.
- Jack Wagner as Bill Avery, Hope Valley’s previous lawman, and now judge.
- Paul Greene is the city’s Medical doctor, Dr. Carson. Currently in a romantic relationship with his nurse, Faith.
Other actors include; Aren Buchholz, Andrea Brooks, Lorreta Walsh, Ben Rosenbaum, Clayton James, and many others. There will be an introduction of a new cast, as a new family (The Canfields) will be settling down in Hope Valley next season.
