8. Edakkal Cave
Edakkal Cave is located 3 kilometres from Ambalavayal which is 25 kilometres from Kalpetta. With a length and width of 96ft and 22ft respectively, the cave is a delight to tourists. The cave walls are adorned with intriguing carvings that will take your breath away, and archaeology enthusiasts will love the intricate designs and elements of this creation. One of the stories is that, these Edakkal caves are said to be formed with the arrows fired by Lava and Kusha, the sons of Lord Sri Rama. Another one is associated with Goddess Mudiampilly and tbe Kutti Chathan . The local people used to have a pilgrimage trip to this place to honour the Goddess.

Lakkidi is one of the highest peaks in Wayanad and receives the 2nd highest rainfall in the whole world.
