The Thing About Pam tells the real-life story of Pam Hupp, a rather chilling story of how she kills her best friend Betsy Faria due to the fat insurance money she stands to receive and then tries to frame her husband, Russ Faria as the killer.
What makes the series more interesting is that Betsy is not Hupps, only the victim. She killed Louis Gumpernberg in 2016 and is currently serving a life sentence after she was found guilty of the crime. Escalating absurdity is the phrase Renee Zellweger, stars as Pam, used to describe the show after she listened to Dateline NBC, a 2019 podcast based on Pam’s killing adventures.

The first season was horrifying, thrilling, and captivating at the same time, drawing a large audience who are already longing for a continuation of the jaw-dropping series. However, it is unlikely that the show will be coming back for a second season as it was a limited six-episode series and has explored all it needed to explore in the first season. The series protagonist is Renee Zellweger, who stars as Pam Hupp, a businesswoman married to Mark Hupp (Sean Bridgers), who was arrested for having murdered Betsy Faria. Josh Duhamel (Transformers) plays Joel swart, Russ Faria as the defense attorney; Judy Greer (Archer) as Leah Askey, the prosecutor who tried Faria for his wife’s murder; Gideon Adlon as Mariah Day, Betsy’s teenage daughter, Mac Brandt, Katy Mixon (American Housewife), and Glenn Fehler. In the case of a second season, most of the casts will be back, reprising their roles.
