The doctor and patient get used to each other, and over time the charming doctor Ike finds a way of inserting himself in Marty’s life to the extent of moving in with him and persuading him (the patient Marty) to name him the president of the family business.
This series, therefore, explores how a normal doctor-patient relationship develops into something exploitative. It turns out to be manipulative with lots of power grabs and dysfunction.

Who is starring in The Shrink Next Door? Paul Rudd (Ghostbusters), known for the comedy series Friends and Clueless, stars as the psychiatrist, Dr. Isaaac ‘Ike’ Herschkopf, who develops a bizarre relationship with Will Ferrell, known for Step Brothers and Zoolander. Will acts as Martin ‘Marty’ Markowitz.
The series will also have Kathryn Hahn known for Bad Mom’s and We’re The Millers, acting as Phyllis, Mary’s sister. Casey Wilson (Atypical), known for Bride Wars and Gone Girl, poses as Dr. Herschkopf’s wife, Bonnie.
