Guy Ritchie is back in studios to adapt The Gentlemen movie, a movie he created and released in 2019. Ritchie is set to direct the first two episodes, and at the moment, he is working on the production of the show at Toff Guy Film.
He will be co-writing the pilot episode with Mathew Read. Read famous for working on big projects, including Peaky Blinders and Curfew. From all the updates on Netflix, The Gentlemen series will include all of his directors and producers present in the Original movie, and here is everything we know about the upcoming adaptations.
The Gentlemen Season 1 Release Date:
We do not know when the series will be coming since Netflix has yet to update the series’ progress. All that is known is that the series is in active development, which translates to the script being written and revised by the creators and showrunners.
After the writing, the series will enter into preproduction, production then post-production, and we hope that Netflix will give out updates on each phase. The series filming being scheduled for November 2022 means that the series might be out in 2023 or 2024.
The Gentlemen Season 1 Plot:
The Gentlemen series explores drug empires, social evils, and betrayal in society. It centers around a drug lord, Mickey Pearson, who, From Scratch, has managed to build one of the biggest and unbeatable drug empires in London. Everybody in the drug business fears him, but chaos erupts when word comes out that he plans to leave the business forever.
The drug empires scheme plots and schemes to take over the business, bribes are dished out, and the blackmails stream in. Pearson has to choose his empire or stick to his decision of cashing out his money and leaving the business for good.
The Gentlemen Season 1 Cast:
The Gentlemen series is still in its early development stages; therefore, we are yet to receive any information regarding its casting. The original film casts might be back to reprise their roles, but this is also yet to be confirmed. The original series featured Mathew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson, the series protagonist who invests in a marijuana Empire in London.
He featured alongside Colin Farrell (Sugar), Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery (Anatomy of a Scandal), Hugh Grant (Kaos), and Jeremy Strong. All of them returning to the series remake is nearly impossible; therefore, one or two might be back to reprise their roles or be given new ones. The most likely person to return is Mathew McConaughey, but only time will tell.

Unfortunately, the trailer of the Gentlemen series is yet to be released, and since filming has not yet started, it will take a while before we see any teaser. With filming set to begin before the year ends, you should expect a trailer to be released in mid-2023.
