Created by Danny McBride, Righteous Gemstones is a black comedy that tells the story of the Gemstone. The family has an infamous history of charity work but is entangled in deviance that they commit to passing down the family tree. Despite the series drawing ideas from real-life experiences, the story is satirical and not based on the actual church and a real evangelist family. Will the McBride creation be renewed for the third season?
