Derek Kolstad, known for creating amazing shows, will be back in studios to do what he does best. Kolstad, who worked on a couple of shows, including the John Wick shows, will, be writing the Splinter Cell series, an upcoming Netflix animated show based on a video game. In an interview with Collider, he expressed that animation is so cool, and he cannot wait until he starts on his show’s development. He will be writing the show alongside Davie Daitch and Katie J. Stone. The following is everything we know about the upcoming Netflix series.
Splinter Cell Season 1 Release Date: When can we expect it?
Even after the series stayed in development for nearly a decade, nobody knows when it will premiere. The game is still getting developed and built by Ubisoft Toronto, and it might take time before it releases. We could, however, look at similar series to the Splinter Cell and approximate how long it will take for the series to get released. Castlevania, the closest series to Splinter, went through the same stage and dropped two years later. If the series goes through the same time frame, the earliest you can expect the series to premiere is by 2024 or 2025. This, however, does not mean that the series can’t come in early, like in 2023.
Splinter Cell Season 1 Plot: What should we expect?
It is only fair to assume that the upcoming series will be based on the Ubisoft games. The first three games in the Ubisoft universe follow the Third Echelon. An NSA reconnaissance unit ad their unending missions to stop the wild, growing terrorist attacks.; Double Agent, the 2006 Splinter cell narrative, followed Sam Fisher, who decided to infiltrate the growing gang and leave his establishment to get to the bottom of the conspiracy that led to the killing of his daughter.
Blacklist, the next Splinter cell, followed Fisher’s command of one of his units after he was ordered to do so by the US president. Since the show was initially green-lit two seasons in advance, it might take its inspiration from either the three stories, one or two.
Splinter Cell Season 1 Cast: Who will be appearing?
The upcoming series will be animated, and since the Ubisoft series has featured many characters, there is much to choose from. There is a high chance that the protagonist will be Sam Fisher. Michael Ironside (Hidden Assets) remains the series’ most talented and renowned voice actor, who might take over the Sam Fisher role. However, Eric Johnson (American Gods) has also voiced the Sam Fisher part in the third series of the Ubisoft game. Therefore, settling on who will be in the upcoming show is a challenge. Another Cast that might also portray the Fisher role is Tom Hardy, famous for featuring in Venom and The Dark Knight Rises.
Splinter Cell Season 1 Trailer: When will it be out?
The series trailer is yet to be released, and since Splinter cell animation filming is yet to start, it will be a while before the trailer is here. The earliest the Splinter series will be out is by 2024. In the meantime, Netflix has other animated shows you may want to check out. Pokemon, Castlevania, Carmen Sandiego, and Sonic X are some of the series you might want to check out.
