If you are a card games fan, then you have heard of Magic: The Gathering, a famous game with almost 25 million players worldwide. Over the years, famous streaming platforms have been open to spinning video games into animated shows, as seen from Arcane and Castle Vania, and it was only a matter of time before we got to see some of the most famous card games get an adaptation. The best part of the news is that not only will the show get an animated miniseries, but it will also get a live-action project, but the two won’t be related whatsoever.
Magic: The Gathering Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
Magic: The Gathering was first released in 2019, and by now, you should be expecting that there is a set release date for when the series will premiere. Good news or the bad news first? The better news is that the series is set to premiere in 2022, but the bad news is that it is not certain the official date when the show will premiere on Netflix. The episodes the show will have or the runtime for each episode is yet to be announced, but you should be in for a captivating show worth all your time and coins. If everything goes on perfectly planned, we expect the series to premiere no later than mid-2022.
Magic: The Gathering Season 1 Plot: What should we expect?
According to earlier released information by the official streaming channel, the series will feature similar characters, but it will follow a completely different story. Adaptations that did not closely follow the original series’ plot have always flopped, but we can hope that won’t be the case with this animation series. The new story will be set in Ravnica, a world that is described as a cityscape that has grand halls, slums, ruins from the ancient world, which has been layered by Stonework and guild maneuverings. It sounds like any other normal part of town that has been demolished, but it’s a magical world with fantasy elements this time around.
Magic: The Gathering Season 1 Cast: Who will be returning?
As far as the released information about casting is concerned, Brandon Routh from Superman Returns will voice Gideon Jura. Jeff Kline is expected to act as the show’s executive producer alongside Dave Newberg, Jose Molina, Todd Makurath, Henry Gilroy, and Eric Calderon. The Russo brothers were to produce the series according to the information provided in 2019; however, they left the project a year later after they could not figure out the best way to adapt the show into an animated series. This is where Kline came in, and in one of his comments, he declared that Russo bringing him in this project is quite magical, considering he has had his fair share of experience in the animation industry.
Magic: The Gathering Season 1 Trailer: When can we watch it?
A trailer highlighting what to expect in the upcoming series is yet to be released, and the word is that it may be out before season one premieres. In the meantime, you can check out movies that have been based on the same Card game or check out adaptations such as Arcane Castlevania that you will find just as captivating.
