Jorginho was born in Brazil, and at the age of 15, he moved to Italy to begin his professional career with the Hellas Verona team; later, he was promoted to the senior team. Jorginho Career:

Jorginho started his career as a youth player of Hellas Verona. In June 2010, he was loaned out to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione club Sambonifacese; he played his 1st full senior season for the Veneto club by appearing 31 times, where he scored one goal while providing 10 assists from his central midfield position. On 4th September 2011, he made his Verona debut in a match as a substitute against Sassuolo in the 76th minute.

On 18th January 2014, Jorginho joined Napoli in a co-ownership deal with Verona for 4.5 years. On 12th February, the team reached the 2014 Coppa Italia Final, and on 3rd May, in the final, Jorginho played the full 90 minutes as they defeated Fiorentina 3–1.

On 22nd December 2014, in the Supercoppa Italiana in Doha, Jorginho entered the game against Juventus in the 2nd half of extra time, replacing Jonathan de Guzmán.

On 14th July 2018, Jorginho signed for the English team Chelsea on a 5-year contract. He joined for an initial transfer fee of around £50 million, potentially increasing to £57 million in add-ons. 

On 5th August, in the 2018 FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, Jorginho made his debut. After six days, he played his 1st Premier League match. International career:

As Jorginho holds Italian and Brazilian citizenship, he was eligible to play for both national teams. In 2012, he was called up for the 1st time for Italy U21. 2 years later; he expressed his desire to represent Italy rather than Brazil internationally, and in March 2016, he received his 1st call-up under manager Antonio Conte for the team’s international friendlies against Spain and Germany. On 24th March 2016, Jorginho made his international debut for Italy as a substitute for Marco Parolo in a 1–1 draw against Spain. Further, for UEFA Euro 2016, he was initially included in Conte’s preliminary 30-man squad, and later Jorginho was excluded from the final 23-man squad.

On 7th September 2018, in Italy’s 1st UEFA Nations League match, Jorginho scored his 1st international goal.
