Jack Ryan Season 1 Recap:
Released on August 21st, 2018, with 8 exciting episodes on Amazon Prime. Season 1 starts with a Ryan noticing suspicious transaction which links to Suleiman who was a CIA one of the primary targets.
Suleiman was lost his family in a horrific bomb attack on his village in Lebanon at a young age. Later, he goes through a series of tragic and unfortunate events that will make him join the Islamic terrorist network with his brother Ali. Over time, he will become the CIA’s primary target as he is responsible for a gas attack that kills 300 innocent people and attempts to assassinate the US President.
Ryan brings suspicious transaction information on Suleiman’s accounts to his boss Greer. But he regrets seizing Suleiman’s accounts and asks for more information. Ryan demarches to block the accounts, leading them to capture two of Sulieman couriers.
While Ryan mid at the garden party, he will be picked up by a coast guard via helipad and joins the Greer (actually he orders him: “Get on the f*** plane”) and goes to Yemen to interrogate Sulieman couriers who were captured. While interrogating, both couriers will be managed to escape due to a car bombing set by one of the Suleiman followers.
But later, the shocking fact gets revealed that one of the couriers was none other than Suleiman. On investigation, Ryan finds that Suleiman plans to assassinate US president and few higher officials through a bioweapon (like Ebola) and bring the government down. While tracing Suleiman, Ryan comes across his brother, Ali, and tries to capture him but kills him.
When most of the doors shut down to capture Suleiman, Greer receives a message from the Turkey refugee camp that one of the refugees claims to be Sulieman’s wife, Hanin, who managed to escape from Yemen for a better future for their children but leaves one of her sons behind.
Ryan makes a deal with her for Suleiman’s location in favor of getting her son back to her. Finally, with the help of Hanin, Ryan finds Suleiman and dramatically kills him.
Greer gets transferred to Moscow, and Ryan becomes the head of TFA-D. But with the note from Greer to Ryan along with a ticket to Moscow, season 1 ends. We could strongly guess that season 2 starts in Moscow.
Jack Ryan Season 2 Recap:
Released on November 1st, 2019, with 8 episodes on Amazon Prime. As expected, season 2 starts in Moscow, but the entire story revolved around Venezuela and its politics.
Season 2 starts with a launching of a rocket from the South China Sea, suspected to be Russians. But Greer traces that the rocket carries an unregistered satellite that origin from Venezuela. Meanwhile, CIA agent Ryan investigates and suspects that President Reyes (Jordi Molla) having illegal weapons deal with Russia to fight back US sanctions.
Ryan and Senator Moreno have been sent to Venezuela to meet President Reyes and ask about the shipment personally. But Senator Moreno will be assassinated in Venezuela, and Ryan doubts that Senator murder is connected to illegal weapon shipments. Later, Ryan learns that the shipment doesn’t contain any weapons but expensive mining equipment, heavily guarded by a London-based private company.
Ryan discovers that shipment is nothing but the tantalum used majorly in all modern electronics. Reyes plans to secure his position as a strong leader by holding massive deposits of tantalum, making Venezuela a major economic player on the global stage. Despite making Reyes earn billons, this operation will also affect the global economy. Ryan believes that Reyes might have an outside partner as he cannot achieve this by himself.
Ryan hacks into Rupert Throne records, the CEO of Epirus(a London-based private company that guards mining) and discovers that the outside partner is US Senator Mitchell Chapin, whose interest is to eliminate China’s dominance in the tantalum market.
Ryan chases Max Shenkel, a German assassin contracted to kill Ryan and Senator Moreno, and discovers that he was killed by his ex-girlfriend Harriett Baumann.
Reyes captures Greer, which leads Ryan to strike into the Presidential palace along with the CIA station chief of Venezuela Mike November to rescue Greer. Though rescuing the Greer is the only motive of this operation, Ryan moves ahead and breaks out into Reyes’s office and tries to kill him. November manages to stop Ryan from murdering Reyes on foreign soil. In the end, Ryan also reveals the involvement of Senator in Venezuela mining operations with Reyes, which comes to a period of season 2.
On the other hand, Greer’s heart condition will put an end to his position as CIA station chief in Moscow, and also he admits to Ryan that he is no longer capable of field operations..
Jack Ryan Season 3 Prediction:
Since the productions are shut down due to COVID 19 global pandemic, there is no official announcement made yet. Tentatively most of the production may resume back in 2021 mid (it’s just a guess). But still, the release depends on how the shooting is being carried out. Also, Season 3 will be scheduled to shoot in different real locations like Season 1 and Season 2. So in this pandemic situation, it is very hard to do filming on three different continents.
Production is assumed to start this year, but some rumors indicated that the shooting had started at the end of 2020. With all these assumptions, it is hard to guess the actual release date. But we can expect this season to premiere in 2022. All we can do is, wait for an official announcement.
Based on Season 1 and Season 2, we can guess that there is no story link between the seasons, but the characters are being carried to the next seasons. Also, hard to assume whether Greer’s character will continue as he admitted that he could not continue as a field officer anymore. Or this character may continue but not as a field officer rather as an adviser sitting in the office watching everything in monitor and guides the Ops team and makes the operations successful (in a dramatic way) like in typical Hollywood investigation-based movies.
Jack Ryan Season 3 Trailer:
Generally, trailers will release one or two months prior to the premiere release. Hence no productions are being carried out, it’s hard to predict. We will come to know all this information once production resumes. Mostly we may expect at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
Till then, you can watch Jack Ryan Season 2 trailer to know what the storyline:
Jack Ryan Season 3 Cast:
John Krasinski will continue as a Jack Ryan, but others are hard to guess. John Krasinski is an American actor and filmmaker. He married a famous British-American actress Emily Olivia Leah Blunt, who played leading roles in Edge of Tomorrow, The Adjustment Bureau and The Huntsman: Winter’s War, etc.
Wendell Pierce (James Greer) may not be part of Season 3 due to his health conditions, as we said earlier. Let’s hope that Cathey Mueller (Abbie Cornish) will come back in Season 3, but her complete absence in Season 2 may shatter our hopes.
