Based on James Swanson’s book Manhunt, the series is described as part historical drama and part thriller. The series plot will be built in the aftermath of the Lincoln assassination and the fight that ensued to protect and preserve the foundation of Lincoln’s plans to reconstruct society.
The series plot will also future the historical figures, mostly black, whose lives and paths crossed with Lincoln. It will also feature the people in the escape plan and high crimes investigation, including the Mary Simmscase. Mary Simms is the slave of the doctor who gave John Wilkes, the subject who assassinated the President, a place to seek refuge while nursing him back to health.
