It has been fifteen years since we started following on Sam and Deans’ journey to combating paranormal events and now that the supernatural series is coming to an end, fans are more than elated to know that there will be a spinoff that will pick up from where the original left it at.
The Winchesters the upcoming series which is also a prequel of the Supernatural will follow the story of the parents of the two brothers, John and Mary, and the former actor Jensen Ackles and his wife Danneel will reprise. The series announcement, however, received a lot of mixed reactions with some overjoyed to get a prequel and others like Jared Padalecki (Walker) confused because he was in the dark of the series spinoff this whole time. But does the future hold for the prequel?
The Winchesters Season 1 Release Date: When will it be out?
Production of the series which was supposed to be in New Orleans is already underway but apart from that is still not evident when we will get the official release date.
Despite the show’s development being conformed sometime in June 2021, it is not until April 2022 that the show started filming and I production and post-production are accounted for then it is likely that the show will premiere in 2023.
Since Warner Bros is eyeing the sale of CW, the channel that picked up the series, high chances are that the spinoff may feature in a different channel altogether.
With that in mind, The Winchesters should premiere in September 1, 2022. We’ll keep a watch on the specifics and keep you informed as soon as a precise date is set.
The Winchesters Season 1 Plot: What is going to happen?
The series will explore the love life of John and Mary Winchester, the parents of the two brothers. The young hunters fell in love risking their lives to save humanity and themselves just as it was destined. Danneel Ackles, the show’s producer has confirmed that the series will be set in 1972 right from how the couple met each other, fell in love, and survived through thick and thin. Dean Winchester who acted as one of their sons in the original series will be the narrator and the whole story will be told from his perspective.
The Winchesters Season 1 Cast: Who will be appearing?
Most of the casts from the original show will be back in the prequel not reprising their roles but some will take on new roles. Meg Donelly and Drake Rodger will act as Mary and John Winchester respectively. The two have been cast in some of the most amazing shows; Donelly in American Housewife and Rodger from the In-Between.
They will be cast alongside Jojo Fleites, her first tv show, and Nida Khurshid from Station 19. Nida will be playing Latika Desai, a young trainee hunter whose string points are her research prowess and her excellent problem-solving skills. Apart from producing the series with his wife, Jensen Ackles will be back for the narration of the whole show.
The Winchesters Season 1 Trailer: When can we watch it?
The trailer of the series is yet to be released and considering that the plot episode started filming in April, it will be quite a while before we get a trailer or a teaser of the upcoming fantasy series.
As we wait for the series’ debut, you could watch the supernatural series on Warner Bros. The Winchesters seasons will be entertainment enough till we get a specific date for the series release and the Channel where it will be available for streaming.
