There is a bigger and better project coming soon. Recently, The Continental miniseries was announced, and there is no greater news than it being a spinoff of the John Wicks saga. Kevin Beggs recently revealed that the series would be a prequel that will take place 40 years before the actual John Wick movies. The series will focus on how he met his team before we got to see them 40 years later. If you have watched all the John Wick saga, you know that the Continental is more than a hotel as it hosts territories for some of the biggest gang members in the world. Now imagine the story of all the gang members meeting at Continental for the first time. Interesting right?
The Continental Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
The Lionsgate production is expected to be released in 2022, but so far, a specific release date for The Continental is yet to be announced. It is not evident whether filming has started, but possibly it has, or it will soon enough for them to meet the 2022 deadline that they have set. Beggs Confirmed that the story would be like three episodes, each with a run time of 90 minutes. The series will be filmed where all the other previous John Wicks movies have been filmed.
In a press release made in August 2022, Peacock disclosed that the show would receive an exclusive distribution on the streaming service.
The Continental Season 1 Plot: What will happen next?
Beggs revealed that the story would have a set of New York in the 1970s. It will focus on Winston, his young self, how he met his accomplices for the first time at the Continental Hotel. It has, however, been confirmed that the legendary actor will not star in the new series but will most likely return as the series narrator. The Continental Season 1 Cast: Who will be a part of it?
The series fans have to make peace with the fact that Keanu Reeves won’t be back to cast as John Wick. He argued that the story’s plot happens quite sometime before the events of Jon Winston; therefore, there is no way he will be part of the cast. Mel Gibson is the first actor confirmed to star in the continental series and star as the lead role. He will play as “Cormac “; therefore, he won’t take the role of Winston. Most probably, he is one of Winston’s many enemies or friends. The show will also feature Peter Greene, Colin Woodwell, Jeremy Bobb (The Outsider), Jessica Allain, Nhung Kate, Ayomide Adegun, among others.

A trailer for this upcoming series is yet to be released by the showrunners. Since Keanu Reeves won’t be back to feature in the series, you can watch him in action by reliving the John Wicks Movies he has acted in. However, all hope is not lost as he can still feature in the Continental series but watch out for his Chapter 4 that will be coming out in 2023.
