Netflix ordered Florida Man formally in a series of eight episodes. The hour-long production series by veteran TV writer Donald Todd and “The outsider” star Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan’s Aggregate Films will be headed by Edgar Ramírez, star of Yes Day, the popular streamer film. Donald Todd has created this series, the NBC hit managing director, who will also show the “This Is Us” series. Additionally, Todd is the show’s executive produced, alongside Jason Bateman and his Netflix-based production company Aggregate Films.
This 8-episode series by Donald Todd is about a struggling ex-cop who ‘will be forced to return to his most crowded home country Florida to find a Philly mobster in the same vein that Body Heat and Out of Sight.
In Netflix’s film Yes Day, which was estimated in the first four weeks by an estimated 53 million households, Edgar Ramírez stars opposite Jennifer Garner. In HBO’s high-ranking and award-winning limited series The Undoing, he recently competed against Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. The next star in Disney’s Jungle Cruise and Universal’s The 355 will be produced in Borderlands. For his performances as Carlos the Jackal at Carlos and Gianni Versace in American Crime Story, Ramírez is a two-times Golden Globe nominee. CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum have been retrofitted.
The managing directors for Aggregate are Jason Bateman and Michael Costigan. Todd, who will serve as showrunner, manages to produce Bateman and Costigan from Aggregate Films. The project is based on the first-look deal Aggregate has with Netflix. It is not related to the Florida Man series with Joel Edgerton, currently being developed at Anonymous Content. It was written by Graham Gordy, based on the novel of Tom Cooper. Todd created the ABC comedy series Samantha “Who by Christina Applegate,” Winning the People’s Choice Award and Emmy. He has worked on NBC’s This Is Us, Ugly Betty’s ABC, and Sleepy Hollow’s Fox.
The video game Borderlands adaptation is also currently being filmed by People’s sexiest man alive, Edgar. The film is from the horror-maestro Eli Roth, which covers the movies Cate Blanchett, Jack Black, and Jamie Lee Curtis(Halloween Kills). He recently appeared in a Netflix family film, which over 50 million households saw. And Edgar Ramirez continues to work with the streaming platform, as he has become an important star in Florida Man’s new eight-episode series.
In Florida Man by Todd, when a struggling ex-cop (Ramírez) is forced to return to his Florida hometown to find the ruthless girlfriend of a Philly Mobster, it’s an exciting journey through buried family secrets and a futile effort to do the right thing where there are so much wrong. In the spirit of Body Heats or Elmore Leonard’s Out of Sight, the series is a wild odyssey to a sunny place.
Edgar Ramirez’s most recent credits are the Netflix Yes Day movie, where two overwhelmed parents who agree to say yes to children for a full day performed along with Jennifer Garner (Peppermint). The HBO limited series The Undoing, with Hugh Grant and Nicole Kidman, also featured recent credits for Ramirez this year.
In the second season of Ryan Murphy‘s decorated American Crime Story on FX, the Venezuelan actor also depicted assassinated fashion designer Gianni Versace. The screen actor has also started several other projects that are partly postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
