MacGyver is an American television series featuring action, drama, and adventure. It follows an intelligent undercover government agent who fights not with his fist nor weapon but the brilliance of engineering. The series was developed by Peter M. Lenkov and premiered on September 23, 2016, on the CBS network. The series is a remake of the 1985 ABC’ series of the same name, which was created by Lee David Zlotoff.
The 2016 version of the series has received positive feedback from its viewers. As a result, The series has come to 4 seasons now, and we long for season 5. However, season 4 of the show premiered on February 7th, 2020 on CBS and ended on May 8, 2020. The show featured 13 episodes but was actually planned for 19 episodes. The reason for this is due to the COVID 19 pandemic, which put a hold on the production. As a result, the 13th episode is the finale of season 4.
MacGyver Brief Story:
The series is about a man Angus MacGyver who is extraordinary in engineering and full of wisdom. Angus is also great in applied physics and receives military training in bomb disposal.
With his special abilities and knowledge, Mac serves as an undercover government agent. What is amazing about this is how Mac solves his cases without violence or assault – mostly in decent ways.
Will there be a Macgyver season 6?
The unfortunate news is that CBS revealed in April 2021 that MacGyver would stop after its fifth season, which ended at the end of that month.
Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, remarked at the time, “All of us at CBS are incredibly appreciative for the amazing work and dedication from Lucas and the rest of the actors, as well as Monica, the writers, and the entire crew.”

MacGyver Season 5 Release Date: When will it air?
It is confirmed that MacGyver Season 5 is going to happen. However, with the abrupt end of season 4, we are not sure if some episodes from 4 will be added to the new season. Nevertheless, we understand there are new episodes that are already recorded. But the sad news is the uncertainty about when season 5 will premiere on CBS.
It may be towards the end of 2020, but considering the current situation, our best guess is sometime on December 5, 2021. In any case, we expect more information soon, and we will keep you informed.
