If you feel like a massive weight has been lifted off your shoulders, you are not the only one! It doesn’t matter if you voted blue or red; it is a kind of relief that election drama is over, for the most part! Now let’s get down to business; what options do you have to watch this weekend on Netflix? Well, there is a lot to choose from, so let’s talk about what’s new on Netflix that you should watch this weekend. It is rare when we don’t have any new release in a month on Netflix, and this week is surely not a part of that rare month. These are the movies and series that you can watch this weekend.
American Horror Story: 1984
The wait is over, and the American Horror Story season 9 is available on Netflix. Netflix releases the previous seasons just as the new season hits FX. We indeed expected it to arrive sooner, but nothing can be done as season 10 has been shifted to 2021. The show might be moved, but Ryan Murphy is pretty consistent in teasing the fans by dropping several teasers on Instagram. Season 9 focuses on the year 1984, the horror movies that release in those years, especially Friday the 13th. If you haven’t watched the show yet, you have the chance to stream all the seasons on Netflix!
Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
Christmas is getting closer and closer, and Netflix has dropped a holiday musical that suits the occasion. The cast is very promising; it includes Keegan Michael Key, Forest Whitaker, and Newbie Magdalen. The Christmas journey begins with a master and an apprentice; the story is set in Cobbleton, an imaginary city in the movie. The story is about a toymaker whose book of ideas was stolen, and as a result, he lost all his wealth and family. When the Toymaker was on the brink of losing his business, Toymaker’s granddaughter steps in. It turns out the granddaughter has a knack for toys’ invention. And oh, even if you don’t like musicals, this one’s got Jon Legends’ songs.
The Life Ahead
Sophia Loren has returned on the screen almost after ten years. Sophia is playing Madame Rosa, a woman who supports herself by taking care of prostitutes’ children. She takes in a 12-year-old street kid who tried to snatch away Rosa’s purse in broad daylight. Does the story sound familiar? That is because this movie is a remake of a 1977 Oscar winner French drama starring Simone Signoret. The Life Ahead landed in limited cinemas, and it was made available on Netflix on 13th November 2020. It is worth watching this kid, who is smart and funny, bonding with an old lady.
The Minions of Midas
The six episodes crime drama landed on Netflix on 13th November in its entirety. The Minions of Midas has been rated 7.3 on IMDB; this show is proof that a good story never loses its relevance. The show is inspired by Jack London’s short story, which was written in 1901. It is about an influential businessman named Victor Genovés; Victor is blackmailed and was asked to pay a massive amount of money. If the demands are not met, the blackmailer will kill a random person at a fixed place and time and then add someone else to the victim list. What will Victor do? Watch it on Netflix to find out.
The Liberator
The Liberator takes us on the bloodiest March towards the victory. Felix and his men put their lives on the line and took many lives to liberate Europe. This animated series takes the animation to a whole new level; it combines the actors’ real faces with CGI, resulting in the most realistic animation.
The Crown season 4
The fourth installment of The Crown season 4 covers the period between 1977 and 1990. It will introduce Lady Diana Spencer and Margaret Thatcher to the show. Gillian Anderson is playing Margaret Thatcher, and by the looks of it, she is gonna nail it. The show is already impressive, and the top-notch performance from characters makes it a must-watch.
Stay tuned for more updates, and enjoy your weekend!
