Are you a lover of anime series? Violet Evergarden Season 2 might be gracing your screen very soon. The series premiered in 2018 on Netflix and scored high ratings in line with the critics. The first season had 13 episodes and received great hype due to its stunning visuals. The cartoon animations, beautiful and emotional storyline also contributed to its great success.
Violet Evergreen Storyline:
Based on a Japanese book authored by Kana Akatsuki and Akiko Takas. The story explores Violet Evergarden, a very determined soldier who follows everything his major says. Unfortunately, she loses her fingers during a war. She meets Major Gilbert for the last time, and he tells her some special last words. She is later operated by Dr. Orland, who gives her auto motor prosthetic arms with the ability to write human feelings down. She starts a new life, and her only motto is to fulfill the last words said to him by Major Gilbert.
Violet Evergarden season 2 Release Date:
Ever since the debut of Season 1, fans have been looking forward to Season 2. Unfortunately, there is no information on the expected release date that has been given. After season 1 ended, the makers of the show released an original video animation. Another announcement was made that a movie based on the anime would be released in April 2020.
The global Coronavirus pandemic, however, caused delays, and it will air in September 2020. Indeed, with two films already released, it is unlikely that Season 2 will be airing at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023. There is no official date announced yet.
Violet Evergreen Season 2 Expected Cast:
We are just hopeful that season 2 of the Violet Evergreen series will see the light of the day. As of now, the cast that will grace the day is not known. If it shows up, then we expect Attack on Titan star- Yui Ishikawa will be playing Violet Evergarden, the protagonist. Daisuke Namikawa will be playing Gilbert Bougainvillea, Takehito Koyaso playing Claudia Hodgins, and Koki Uchiyama as Benedict Blue. The team expected to provide the English voice-over will include Erika Harlacher, Tony Azzolino, Kyle McCarley (Jojo Bizarre Adventures Stone Ocean: Part 6), Ben Pronsky, and Christine Marie Cabanos.
Violet Evergreen Season 2 Expected Plot:
Kyoto Animation has not mentioned anything about the expected plot of Season 2. According to season 1, we might, however, expect the exploration of the death of Gilbert. It will not be shocking to find that Gilbert did not actually die. Violet is also very hopeful to see Gilbert again.
Violet Evergreen Season 2 could, therefore, center on the reunification of Violet and Major Gilbert. We should also expect several mysteries to be unveiled, such as Violet moving on with her life and writing letters. It is also likely that the search for Velvet of Violet would also be at the forefront. The show’s makers may opt not to disclose what to expect in season 2 and just have the fans keep on guessing.
