‘Venom’, the first of the sequel, was a big hit, so we are most likely to have it back on screen. Earlier this year, Venom seemed to be one of the few dramas that would have aired in 2020. Unfortunately for this series, the pandemic had caused a pause in its filming.
The release of this Sony’s Venom sequel titled Venom: Let there be carnage has been pushed eight months further than the original date. The series was set to premiere in October 2020 but has currently been rescheduled to june 2021 in the US and the UK. Although the original date of Venom 2 has been moved, it may interest the lovers of Warner Bros film to know that ‘The Batman’ will now be released on October 1st, 2021.
This modification has also affected many other productions’ release date as new series would be made to premiere this year.
Andy Serik explained in May 2020:
“started editing then we had to shut down. The editor flew back to the states and have been editing remotely”
As of November 2019, the filming of Venom season 2 has already resumed and was completed earlier this year in April 2020.
Venom 2 Plot: What will Happen?
The director of Venom 2 Andy Serkis had stated on IGM earlier this year concerning the plot of Venom 2. He mentioned,
“He is in the beginning stages and he has very clear ideas about what he likes to see visually, and how to take the characters to another dimension.”
But hopefully, Venom 2 would center around Venom and Eddie’s relationship. Would they team up, fight crimes, and only stop evil? We can only wait to see in Venom 2
Venom 2 Cast: Who will be in?
In June 2019, Pascal confirmed the comeback of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock.
“I can say that Tom Hardy will be back, magnificently playing that character like no one else can. When you think of Venom, you’ll never be able to think of anyone but Tom Hardy in that bathtub of lobster, and once you see Tom Hardy do this character, that’s all you need to know.”
There you have it, fans; Tom Hardy will definitely be back on screen. Michelle Williams as Eddie Brock’s ex-wife Anne Weying will also be back and we would be hoping to see some transformation in her relationship with Eddie.
Stephen Graham would also be starring in this sequel, but his role hasn’t been confirmed yet. Although most stars will be back, Sean Delkany voiced out his insecurities about his role in this series. He confirmed to Insider that he’s got a “very, very small blink and you will miss the role.”
But we hope we would not miss him as presumed in this sequel. With the recent development for Spidey being in the Morbius trailer, there is a possibility of having more Sony hero’s stars in this series. Perhaps Black cat, Morbius, Night watch, or many other arch-nemesis and allies of Spider-man. Marvel studio boss Kevin Feige earlier confirmed the possibility of a crossover seems likely at some point. This means spider man isn’t crossed off the list of the possible cast right now.
It has been reported that this sequel will not be directed by Fleischer. This sequel comes with numerous possibilities, but we expect a totally thrilling hit sequel with a story totally beyond our imagination.
Venom 2 Trailer: When can we see it?
The first trailer was rumoured to be out this year but later confirmed to only have been a teaser trailer. Currently, it’s very unlikely for us to get a trailer anytime soon.
