Who doesn’t love a good Spanish periodical romance drama? No one, that’s who. The first season of Heirs to the Land is a classic that involves everything. It has action, romance, a sprinkle of comedy, plenty of drama, and a cast that knows exactly what they are doing. Hugo is a simple but sensitive man who dreams of becoming a shipbuilder in 14th century Barcelona, trying to stay true to his vow to the Estanyol family. The story is nothing if not gorgeous. The showrunners have not yet announced the second season, and fans are already eagerly queueing up to see if a healthy serving of the same dose will be provided by Netflix later.
Heirs to the Land Season 2 Storyline:
The first season of Heirs to the Land is yet to premiere (it will drop on April 15th), but those with access to IMDb pro have already tasted the delicious meal that is to come. This is terrible news for fans of romantic drama; the fact that the first season has not yet been publicized translates to a second season has not begun to be produced. There is absolutely no news or announcements regarding a potential second season. However, this is not due to the first season’s quality, as with many first seasons only shows.
Netflix is yet to gauge the reactions of its viewers qualitatively and will probably only consider a second season for the show if the reactions are promising and positive. A release date would realistically only follow after a second season has been announced, and so far, there has not been any news in regards to the second season of Heirs of the Land. Fans should be patient, though, as Netflix is known for being timely and straightforward with its release announcements. Odds are they will announce a renewal and a possible release date within the year.

Heirs first season has not yet been released, and this means that the only cast member who is almost guaranteed to return for the second season would be Yon Gonzalez, who starts as Hugo. If a second season is commissioned, he would be sure to return as the main character yet again.

Yet more disappointing news for Spanish romantic drama fans as the absence of news regarding a second season also means that no trailer is available either. With the first season premiering later in April, it would not be a surprise if the second season premiered sometime in 2023 or late 2022.
This means that a trailer should not be expected before late 2022. Fans are in for a pleasant wait, as Netflix has a reputation for releasing trailers much before releasing the entire series.
