With the release of the new HBO Max 2023 preview, viewers now have their first look at brand-new footage from future, highly-anticipated titles on both HBO and the streaming service. The Idol, True Detective: Night Country, and Rain Dogs are just a few of the new HBO Originals in this commercial. Other new shows highlighted include the upcoming drama series The Last of Us (debuting January 15) and the limited series White House Plumbers (debuting March 15). The HBO Original comedy Barry, Someone Somewhere, The Righteous Gemstones, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as the HBO Original dramas Succession, Perry Mason, The Gilded Age, and Winning Time: The Birth of the Lakers Dynasty, return in the HBO Max 2023 preview.
10. Succession Season 4

Black comedy-drama Succession, about the Roy family and their struggle to maintain power, will return in 2023 for a fourth season. Season 4 will likewise consist of 10 episodes and will follow the efforts of Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) children to block the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech magnate Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard).

An upcoming drama series, The Last of Us, will be adapted from Naughty Dog’s 2013 video game. The series follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a grizzled survivor who is recruited to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of a draconian quarantine zone 20 years after modern society has been obliterated. There will be nine episodes, and their runtimes have yet to be determined.

The political drama miniseries The White House Plumbers is inspired by Egil Krogh and Matthew Krogh’s 2007 book Integrity. The drama is based on real events and centers on Woody Harrelson’s E. Howard Hunt and Glenn G. Liddy were political saboteurs and key figures in the Watergate scandal (Justin Theroux). As such, it shows how the two unwittingly contributed to the downfall of the regime they had been defending.

The Weeknd, Reza Fahim, and Sam Levinson have collaborated on a new HBO drama series titled The Idol. The series will follow Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp), a want-to-be pop idol whose last tour is canceled due to a nervous breakdown. She then sets out to reclaim her title as America’s sexiest pop star and enters into a complicated relationship with a self-help guru and the leader of a modern cult.

Barry follows the dark comedy-drama of Barry (Bill Hader). He is a hitman in Los Angeles who occasionally gets hired to kill people but wants to leave that life. Season 3 of Barry premiered with HBO announcing the show’s renewal for a fourth season, set to air in 2023. After three seasons of cat-and-mouse, the police have finally captured Barry, and the fourth season will follow the aftermath.
5. Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12

Curb Your Enthusiasm has been regenerated for a twelfth season on HBO. The semi-fictionalized character of Larry David, Seinfeld co-creator and comedian, was the comedy’s focus, which aired for the first time in 2000. The rest of the main cast, including Jeff Garlin and his on-screen wife Susie Essman, will return alongside David for season 12th of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Doom Patrol was revived for a fourth season in October 2021. The first two episodes of Season 4 Part 1 will release on the same day, December 8, 2022. After January 5, 2023, the premiere of the series finale, part 1, the remaining six episodes will be released later that year. In Doom Patrol, we follow a motley crew of antiheroes who all gained their superpowers in tragic ways and are widely reviled by mainstream society. According to reports, Season 4 will continue in the same vein as previous seasons by exploring the emotional wounds each character has endured.

The new HBO series Love and Death, starring Elizabeth Olsen, is based on the true story of Candy Montgomery, who murdered her neighbor and friend Betty Gore in the early 1980s. The performance is based on the books Proof of Love by John Bloom and Jim Atkinson and Love & Death in Silicon Prairie, Parts I & II, two lengthy essays from the Texas Monthly.

After a two-year absence, Perry Mason will be back on television. One of the most well-known fictional American lawyers, Perry Mason, was created by novelist Erle Stanley Gardner. In a tweet, HBO announced that the second season of Perry Mason would premiere in February of 2023. According to previous reports, the new season will pick up three months after the events of Season 1. Perry, played by Matthew Rhys, and his team will fight for justice for their clients when a seemingly simple case takes over Los Angeles and the Great Depression ruins America.
