For quite a long time, the vampire series have offered the thrill, the adventure, the fun, and the risks that come from being a Vampire, just as portrayed in Vampire Diaries and The Originals. It is interesting how the early vampires could not walk in the sun and only had to feed at night until the daytime ring was invented, making it easier for them to come out as humans. It seems like the blood-sucking adventures are not coming to an end anytime soon as Netflix has yet ordered another vampire series. Instead of prestige drama series such as the works of Mike Flanagan (The Midnight Mass), Netflix is allowing teen fantasy “First Kill”, which may not surpass your favorite “Twilight” saga but will still be as good.
Netflix Canceled First Kill After Season 1
Netflix undoubtedly decided not to produce a second season of the show less than two months after First Kill season 1 made its debut on June 10. According to Deadline, First Kill season 2 won’t be available on Netflix, despite the fact that Netflix hasn’t made an official announcement about the decision.
It’s uncertain if Netflix considered viewership when deciding to cancel the series because of the way the streaming service presents its viewership data. Although critics weren’t big fans of the show, viewers were, and Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 90 percent audience rating.
Sadly, the series is highly doubtful to be marketed to other streaming services given that it is a Netflix Original. Furthermore, it’s unlikely that Netflix will change its mind because the streaming service hasn’t been known to keep its own cancellations.
First Kill Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
Netflix and the show’s creator finally announced a specific release date for the vampire and slayers series, and the good news is that filming is done and dusted. Post-production usually takes a while as this is where most of the work is, and having a Netflix schedule in mind, the series might take close to six months after production to get released.
The series filming was completed last year in August, and the eight episodes series may be released between February-May 2022. These are only assumptions that will be confirmed once we receive an official update from the series creators. The series will premiere on Netflix on June 10, 2022, so we’re not far off!
First Kill Season 1 Cast: Who will be in?
The series feature Sarah Catherine, who plays Juliette Fairmont, a teenage vampire who thinks she has it all together. Still, when love comes into the picture, despite the unrelenting support from her family, she falls for what she fears most. Imani Lewis plays Cal Burns, a fearless monster hunter who is just as vulnerable as determined. There exist two families. The vampire families consist of Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson playing Sebastian, Gracie Dzienny as Elinor, and Dylan McNamara as Oliver. The Burns family, also the monster hunters, consists of Aubin Wise, Jason Robert, Dominic Goodman, and Phillip Mullings.
First Kill Season 1 Plot: What will happen?
Netflix is yet to release the official synopsis, but the series follows the premise of the short story. Juliet has to make her first kill to be fully accepted in the powerful vampire family, but this all changes when she sees Calliope. Cal is the new girl in town whose family are vampire slayers celebrated from afar and beyond. Soon enough, the two realize that it won’t be as easy to kill either of them, but since matters of the heart cannot be controlled, they end up falling for each other. But will the two stand the test of time now that they are from two different families?
