If you loved watching Friday the 13th series, then news that the series will receive a sequel will make your day. Peacock has signed a collaboration with Bryan Fuller (Star Trek Discovery) to bring the Crystal Lake series, a show that will add some bits of the Friday 13th series into its gory plot.
Fuller, the series creator, confirmed that the upcoming show would be a little bit of everything. They can either go to hell or space, but if the series stands the test of time and gets renewed as often as possible, they might as well go to space. Here is everything we know about the upcoming show.
Crystal Lake Season 1 Release Date: When will it air?
Unfortunately, we have yet to determine when the Crystal Lake series will be released. Peacock and Fuller are yet to set a specific release date for the upcoming show, but we know it will not be available in 2022. The series announcement is less than one-month-old, and we could give it one more year for development and production. The earliest you should expect to see the series trailer is by late November 2023 or 2024
Crystal Lake Season 1 Plot: What should we anticipate?
Fuller is yet to go into details of the upcoming series plot; therefore, we currently do not have detailed information on what the plot will entail. However, he said that the upcoming show would blow your mind if you loved the Friday 13th series plot. He also added that they would be spinning the Friday 13th series just a little bit which could translate to the upcoming show getting tenser than its sequel. One relatable thing about the series plot is that bodies will be dropped with every episode, and this cannot get more exciting.
Crystal Lake Season 1 Cast: Who will be appearing?
Unfortunately, the series cast is yet to be revealed, and currently, we do not know who will be coming back to reprise in the upcoming show., However, there are hints that Fran Volpe will return to reprise his role as Jason ad Friday the 13th. Fans could not be more excited.
According to Fuller, the series creator, Jason making an appearance in the upcoming series is highly possible, and he has also hinted that he wouldn’t want to keep him out of the series. He added that the upcoming show would have many manifestations of Jason, which is confirmation enough. Chances are that some of the Friday 13th cast will also be seen in the upcoming show. Unfortunately, a trailer for the Crystal Lake series is yet to be released, and we do not know how soon the trailer will be available. The series announcement came in early November, so the chances that the series filming has already started is nil.
However, the series will go into filming in 2023, and if the creators are fast enough, we may binge on the series before 2023 ends. There is also a possibility of receiving either a teaser or trailer of the show in 2024 and then binging on it in 2024. This will, however, be made clear in due time.
